I am about 1 year out from an implant removal/breast lift. Does it look like some of my Areola tissue is left over in the scar line?
Answer: Areola It does appear there may be a little areola tissue around the edge. Since you are a year out from surgery you can consider a revision to improve the overall appearance of the areola and scars.

Answer: Areola tissue Dear Pennierose, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Scar Your photo is not very clear. Please take a closer photo and not one that reflects from a mirror. Let someone else take the photo or place your phone in a position for a close up view.

Answer: Areola Left Over I believe that there is excess tissue overall. I would recommend another potential lift to appropriately set the distances from the areolas to the breast fold.

Answer: Was areolar tissue left behind? Thank you for your photographs. It does appear that the slightly darker skin of your areola is on either side of your vertical incision line. This can occur in patients who have very large areola or the areola sit high enough on the breast so that it is impossible to get the vertical lines of the lift pattern outside of the edges of the areola when drawing the lift pattern. After the breast tissue has stretched and relax some, it may be possible revise this under local anesthesia. Speak with your plastic surgeon. Best wishes.
