I had a capsulectomy 4 months ago. My left breast was a grade 3 and my right breast was a grade 1. If you look closely, my right breast implant is lower then the left, but the left is much more fuller all around and sagging more then the right. The left breast is the side, where I am holding the camera. Is it something my doctor did? Did he not place them right or should I wait it out for 2 more months for my follow up? I went from 390 saline to 375 silicone. Thank you so much!
Answer: Asymmetry Concern Post Op Capsulectomy Breast #revision surgery is more difficult, complicated, and requires more time than primary surgery. Capsular contracture may recur regardless of surgeries being performed at this time and may require additional surgeries. There is as much as a 40% chance!!! that additional surgery will be needed following this operation. Also, any asymmetries regarding the folds under your breasts will not be totally corrected. It can be up to one year see your final result. Your doctor may also require you to move or massage the implants within the breast pockets during the #postoperative period. (#Textured implants do not require breast massage.) Typically, it's best to wait 6 to 12 months depending on the reason for #revision. Matters such as sagging or drooping and size change will not improve with time. As with all cosmetic surgery, results will be rewarding if expectations are realistic. With any surgical procedure, there are some risks which is usually discussed with you during your consultation.

Answer: Asymmetry after Capsulectomy Hello,I am presuming you had a capsulectomy on your left breast only, and the right was just an implant exchange. This is a frequent occurrence, as one side has no capsule, and the other still does, which affects there shape an position. This may change as you heal however, or it may not. Additionally, your risk of recurrent capsular contracture is higher than it needs to be, as your surgeon chose a periareolar incision to perform the capsulectomy, instead of an inframammary incision. If you do have recurrence, or your right breast becomes frankly contracted, you should have a revision surgery only through the inframammary incision.Best of luck!

Answer: Breast Revision Surgery Thank you for your photos. Difficult to tell what is going on at this point, but I would continue with your follow ups. I would agree however that you should wait another couple of months before re-evaluating the situation. The one thing to keep in mind, unfortunately, once you have had capsular contracture, the chances of having another capsule is higher, especially if you keep having operations on the breast. Therefore assess things in a few months and at that point you can make a wise decision.Good luck.

Answer: Revision after capsulectomy I would definitely wait more time to make a final judgement on your breasts. It really takes 8-12 months for healing to occur. Also positioning with your arm up and taking the photo makes that side appear different from the side where your arm is down. Consult your surgeon to be sure.
