Your nipples are located below your breast fold therefore a lift is recommended. Without a lift, your implants would sit low on your chest and you may not get the fullness you want.

Hi. Having breast implants and a breast lift would give you the most youthful and symmetric result... but you would need all of the breast lift scars. Having breast implants without the lift would give you a nice, more full result, but you would still have some sagging and asymmetry. The answer to your question depends on which one of those sounds more appealing. You just have to have a realistic idea of what to expect with each option. If you choose to avoid the lift and just have implants now, you can still elect to do a lift in the future when the sagging gets worse. As long as you understand what each procedure would accomplish, then you can decide which option to choose. Talk to a PS who is open to lots of options and can give you an idea of a realistic expectation during your consultation. Best of luck!

The technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained. Later, fat transfers can be performed if additional volume is desired.

Yes you need a lift with or without an implant. We get many questions from women like you who decided not to get a lift and are unhappy. Don’t go be down that road. Unwilling to get a lift because if the scars? Then you’re better off doing nothing at all.

In general, breast implants increase the volume of the breasts while breast lifting elevates the breasts. The placement of implants does achieve in many patients a small amount of lifting and the larger implant will lift significantly more than the smaller implant. This is especially true if the nipple position is higher than the crease under the breast when one is in a standing position. It is important when discussing this with your plastic surgeon to determine if the amount of lifting is what you are trying to achieve. The amount of lifting tends to be quite small. It is a difficult decision to make for those in the gray zone when their breasts have descended slightly but not sagging tremendously. Pay close attention at your consultation as to how much realistic lifting would be expected with the volume of implant that you are considering.

An examination in person by an experienced board certified plastic surgeon would be required to properly determine the best treatment option for you. That said, from your photos it would indeed appear that you would benefit from an appropriately sized implant ideally in a subfascial location, without the need for a mastopexy or breast lift. You can expect to achieve no more than 1-2 cm "lift" of the nipple/.areola from an augmentation alone, but it will more than likely achieve a fuller upper pole and pretty breast shape and proportion for you. Beware of too large an implant, which will eventually increase the risk of greater sagging or ptosis. Again, your plastic surgeon can advise you on all of your options. Dear Versatile144001,determining whether you need simply a breast augmentation versus a breast lift can be somewhat complicated. It depends on a number of factors including skin laxity and current nipple position. Generally speaking, if the nipples are lower than the inframammary line the patient will most likely need a breast lift. If the nipples are at or above the inframammary line we can generally get by with just a breast augmentation depending on the size of the implant the patient wants. I often still using implant when I perform a breast lift because it provides more upper breast fullness after the lift. To be sure a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon will help determine what the patient actually needs.

I recommend an in person consultation with a plastic surgeon to discuss your goals and be measured. After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants. They then get to choose what looks right for them. They also get to see what they would look like when the breasts have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. Mildly Sagging Breasts: If your breasts are mildly droopy, a saline or silicone gel implant placed behind the pectoral muscle might help create the illusion of perkiness. That’s because as the implant fills out the top of the breast, it also fills out the bottom, making it look as if the nipple has moved higher. It hasn’t.
