Hello, After a drastic weight loss, my breasts are saggy and deflated. I'm looking for a lift with implants and while doing research, read about Galaflex mesh. I had one consult already before I heard about the mesh and the surgeon didnt mention it at all. Would you recommend using a mesh implant? I want to avoid sagging and having to have a revision sooner than necessary because of it. Thanks a lot in advance!

Answer: Breast lift and implants Dear Reserved477062, my preferred lift is a lollipop lift when a periareolar won't do (ie greater than 2cm lift required). The lollipop technique was created by a Canadian plastic surgeon named Elizabeth Hall-Findley and treats the breast as a three dimensional structure instead of two dimensions (anchor - lift). Most importantly it does not require the horizontal component scars that the anchor-lift requires and breasts appear much more natural, lifted, and less boxy. Lastly, the lift lasts longer because the lollipop doesn't rely on the skin to hold the breast up, its actually breast tissue thats being brought together to support the breast and hence improves longevity. Answer: Mesh Mesh can be helpful, but is more expensive and does increase the risk of capsule formation. Personally, I usually don't use mesh for the initial surgery, unless in long distant runners, but use it if needed in revisions.
