Masculinity of elongated face and high, shallow cheekbones (Photo)

Question

Dear Doctor, I have always felt that my face conveys a certain masculinity, perhaps mainly due to a longer face, close-set eyes, and high-set, shallow cheekbones. I also feel that the distances between my eyes and chin and nose and upper lip appear especially long. Thank you very much for your time and help.

Oronoalex,I think a lip lift is the answer for you.  Considering faces from a gender perspective is something I have pioneered, and that may be the key for you. It's a quick procedure and very effective. Please see a number of my videos.

You need cephalometric analysis to confirm that you have "long face". That means, you should visit a clinic and take some x-ray photographs.

However, if you have dental show at resting status, so you keep strength on your lips to close them. Or if you have gummy smile. These may be some evidences of long face.

If you have them, visit hospital and take x-rays.

This status can be improved by Two-jaw surgery in most of the cases.

You do have long midface (eyebrows to bottom of nose) compared to your forehead and chin.  The shape of you face is oval, but this could be altered to a more "heart shaped face" by augmenting your cheeks.  This can be done with filler such as restylane lift or voluma, or with an implant.

Your upper lip could be augmented with filler or with a lip lift (surgery that pulls the lip up and slightly towards the nose).

Of course, there are many many options in cosmetic surgery, but for you that is what I would recommend first.

Hello there,

Yes, when we talk of an ideal face we divide it into three halves and your middle and lower halves are a little longer than your forehead. The options to make the face more balanced and feminine would be a rhinoplasty to reduce length of the nose, cheek implants to give more volume to the midface, an upper lip lift to reduce the distance between the nose and upper lip, along with a jaw contouring procedure to reduce the vertical height of the lower jaw. This will create a harmony between the three halves of the face and make it look more feminine and delicate.
