Will CoolSculpting change fat distribution?

Think of it this way- the areas we treat with CoolSculpting are the areas patients consider to be their "problem areas." Meaning these are the areas where fat collects and protrudes disproportionately more compared to other areas of the body. By permanently eliminating the bulges in these localized areas, it makes the fat distribution of the entire body more even and aesthetically pleasing. So, even if you were to gain weight, you would gain weight evenly throughout the body instead of it going straight to those problem areas. I hope this helps!

Coolsculpting is a way to target fat pockets in various areas including the abdomen, flanks, bra, arms, and thighs.  Because it removes a small amount of fat gradually at time, it will not affect the future fat distribution. In other words, if you were to gain 20 lbs the normal pattern of fat accumulation will remain the same which is different than traditional liposuction.

Hi.  Coolsculpting will remove focal fat that is drawn into the applicator at the time of treatment.  It does not impact future fat distribution.  Existing fat cells enlarge or shrink with weight gain or loss respectively for the first 30 lbs or so, more than 30 lbs and new fat cells are generated.  Where your body deposits fat is not predictable or controllable, whether the removal technique is via Coolsculpting, Kybella injections, or liposuction.  Be sure to see a Coolsculpting University certified provider who has advanced training for more information.  Good luck!
