Without having performed your surgery or examining your nose in person, it's difficult to know how much smaller your tip will get. What I can tell you is that patients typically don't see the final results of their rhinoplasty for up to a year. Your surgery was just a few short weeks ago, so there is still a great deal of swelling throughout your nose, including your tip, that will subside over time. If after a few more weeks you are still concerned, I encourage you to speak with your plastic surgeon so he or she can examine you and help put you at ease.
Hi there, its difficult to know based on your photos as the angle is not ideal however, this is usually what I tell people. For the first month, your tip will be VERY swollen. It will not look like the result at this point. If you had your surgery Feb 25, this is VERY early. After the second month, you will start to get a good idea how your tip will look however over the next year you will see things improve more and more. Its amazing how much it changes over the course of a year. In the end, its impossible to determine how much it will change, but you will likely see a big difference over the next month. I've included a small blog I wrote on this topic as well. James P. Having not examined you, it is always impossible to tell with certainty, and the photos really do not help. However, it is typical that your nose and tip especially will be swollen during the weeks immediately after surgery. You should let your surgeon know about your concerns, and he/she can help you understand what you can expect.
Dear Kissa, In general the tip is the last place for the swelling to dissipate. Typically the majority of the tip swelling is reduced within the first few months with the final swelling taking an entire year. Discuss your concerns with your surgeon to help give you peace of mind during the recovery phase. Best regards, Michael V. Elam, M.D.
Your rhinoplasty postop pictures don´t show an exagerated result in my opinion. The bridge looks pleasingly straight and while the tip is still greatly swollen the nasolabial angle is discreetly open. You must remember that the swelling will go down at least another 20% in the next week, and ...
Defatting the nasal tip entails very carefully thinning some of the underlying soft tissue in the nasal tip. This must be done with extreme caution to prevent inadvertent compromise of the blood circulation to the nasal tip which can be detrimental. Please consult with a board...
At only a few weeks from surgery, it is almost impossible to tell what you are feeling. Usually at this point, the swelling leads to some asymmetries and abnormal sensations, but will likely improve with time. I would recommend just continued conversation and follow up with your surgeon to...
