Long or short nose: the distance between the radix (inter eyebrows) and the tip is the lenght of a noseLong or short tip: the distance between the lip and the tip is the lenght of the tipDo build a 2x2 table and you'll get cases of:-long nose + long tip (your problem) (aquilne noses, latin noses, caucasian noses)-long nose + short tip (arab noses and indian latin noses)-short nose + long tip (slavic noses, germanic noses and nordic noses)-short nose + short tip (afroamerican and asian noses)Procedures suitable to correct each of the above mentioned issues and available surgical maneouvres:-to shorten a long nose: reduction of cephalic side of lower lateral cruras, caudal septum resection (very dangerous maneouver), trimming the tips of the lateral cartilages (upper lateral cartilages)-to shorten a long tip: resection of a portion of medial cruras of lower alar cartilages, resection of lateral cruras of the same lower cartilages, eventually domes beheading+rebuild-to lenghten a short nose: septal lenghtening (tongue in groove or my preferred direct Cottle graft lenghtening), cartilage grafts at tip, columella, strut grafts-to lengthen a short tip: lower medial cruras lenghtening by grafs or strut grafts, septal lenghtening, tip grafting (Sheen, Peck, etc)Hope this clarifies.
