What procedure will shrink my mons public area? (Photo)

Congratulations on your weight loss!I would recommend you visit a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, its hard to give you a defined answer by just looking at the picture.  Because of your weight loss you might need some of the excess skin removed as well as liposuction to the area. 

For best results in this area, I recommend a hi definition procedure like VASER liposuction, which can be performed at the same time as a tummy tuck, if there is skin laxity. I use VASER HI DEF with ThermRF and fat grafting to get the most fat removal, skin tightening, contour and definition. This combination will give you the most toned result. Generally, liposuction should reduce the size of this area without scarring.  You will need to wear compression to help mold the skin after the procedure.

From the photo it seems that you have both excess skin and excess fatty tissue in the months area. A combination of  liposuction and lifting would address the problem.

With a large weight loss the mons pubis often remains full looking secondary to persistent excess fat and laxity. An examination is essential to determine if improvements are warranted and to discuss options. Liposuction is most often used but lifting the area may also be needed. If this is excess fat only then some consideration could be given to off label non-surgical fat reduction technologies such as Sculpture or TruSculpt. It may respond to liposuction if there is still reasonable tone to your skin. If, from the weight loss, etc. the skin is very loose then you may need to have some skin removed at the same time.

Thank you for your question.  Reduction of the mons pubis is a common procedure during abdominoplasty after massive weight loss.  If abdominoplasty is not planned, then the mons can be reduced with liposuction, many times as an in office procedure.  Consult a board certified plastic surgeon for an individual assessment.

A consultation would be necessary to determine exactly what your anatomic situation is and the severity of it. If this is a fat problem alone then liposuction could be a solution. Factors such as redundancy of skin, skin elasticity, age, personal goals, tolerance for scars... will come into play. Seek consultation with board-certified plastic surgeons who can demonstrate significant experience achieving the types of outcomes you will be pleased with.
