Dr. Mathew Mosher is a board-certified plastic surgeon and the Medical Director of YES Medspa and Cosmetic Surgery Centre in Langley, British Columbia. With over 26 years of experience, he leads an experienced team that is dedicated to performing individually optimized cosmetic surgical procedures and nonsurgical treatments, finding the best solutions for each patient to create exceptionally natural-looking results. “Plastic surgery can be life-changing, and each patient has unique, highly individualized concerns and goals,” says Dr. Mosher. “I take the time to understand each patient’s needs, and to inform and educate them about all of their surgical and nonsurgical options for improving their body image.” Dr. Mosher earned his medical degree from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver before going on to an internship in general surgery at Saint Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver and a residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon. He then headed to Santa Ana, California, where he was chosen for a prestigious fellowship in aesthetic surgery under the tutelage of renowned plastic surgeon Dr. B.F. Connell. Additional training in Toronto, Honolulu, and Dallas followed before he returned to Vancouver and joined YES Surgery Centre. In 1997, Dr. Mosher was one of the first physicians in B.C. to introduce laser resurfacing, laser hair removal, microdermabrasion, dermal fillers, and pharmaceutical grade skin care to his medical practice. He maintains a commitment to teaching medical students, plastic surgery residents, physicians, nurses and laser technicians, which helps keep his staff advancing and learning. “Plastic and reconstructive surgery requires an attention to detail and a dedication to lifelong learning, unlike many other aspects of medicine,” says Dr. Mosher. “Although my focus for the past 20 years has been cosmetic surgery and cosmetic treatments, I continue to be inspired by the advances made in all areas of plastic and reconstructive surgery.” Dr. Mosher is board-certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada - Plastic Surgery. He is a member of the Canadian Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons, Canadian Laser Aesthetic Surgery Society, and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He is also an Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia’s Division of Plastic Surgery, an Executive of the Canadian Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and a past president of the Canadian Laser Aesthetic Specialists Society. Dr. Mosher takes pride in making time to communicate clearly with patients, help them understand their options, and guide them through the entire process, to ensure that their expectations align with their result. “We ensure that the advice we give patients is something they can rely upon and will always be offered with their best interests in mind,” he says. As a volunteer with Project H.A.N.D.S., Dr. Mosher has traveled to Guatemala to provide plastic and reconstructive surgeries to impoverished children and adults in need. Whoever and wherever his patients are, he aims to give them results that lead to satisfaction and self-confidence.
Was on point explaining everything to me, time frame of what to expect and then making sure I was comfortable with the procedure. Staff was amazing and friendly every visit. Day of surgery everyone was wonderful with great attitudes.
I had so much extra skin and terrible stretch marks following the birth of my two children. No amount of exercise seemed to help over the years. I finally made the decision to have the abdominoplasty when my youngest was 13 years old…following the surgery and seeing the results, my only regret is not doing it a decade earlier. I would’ve enjoyed the results and how wonderful it makes me feel every time I get dressed (or undressed for that matter!) much sooner in life and also would’ve likely healed a little quicker and nicer. All in all I highly recommend this procedure and though money is tight, I do not regret a single cent.As an incentive for posting a review, this reviewer received an entry into RealSelf’s monthly $500 gift card giveaway.
I went to Dr Mosher for a breast augmentation and he did an incredible job! I went from an insecure A to a very confident C. Him and his team made me feel very safe and excited to whole way through. The nurses are always available to answer 101 questions you will have post op as well. I would 10/10 recommend Dr Mosher!
Exceeded expectations… Dr. Mosher and his team at YES nailed it in every way. My journey with Dr. Mosher began 20 years ago with a successful breast augmentation. In 2023 I decided it was time to remove the implants and move on with a new natural me. I was amazed with the results Dr. Mosher was able to achieve. At 63 I feel wonderful and look fantastic. The pre-surgery appointments explained the entire procedure in detail. I was also able to meet with the anesthesiologist prior to the surgery and by the time the actual surgery took place I was confident with the team, and the surgical facility was pristine. Post surgery instructions were clear and detailed. I followed everything the YES Team told me to do and my results exceeded my expectations.
There are a lot of reviews on breast implants, but I cannot let it pass by that Dr. Mosher does amazing work for the rest of the body! My abdominoplasty was a long-time coming and I'm am happy to report that the results were great. My belly button is perfect- you'd never know it was in a new position! All of my lower abdomen stretch marks are gone. My abdomen looks better than it ever did- even in my 20's! Thoughtful care given on the day of surgery, good aftercare as well. Even though it was a bit of a wait to get a consult- the quality is worth the wait.
I am over 6 months post breast augmentation, and my results with Dr Mosher have completely exceeded my expectations! My only regret is not having done it sooner. His team is very courteous, helpful, and professional! I was definitely a bit anxious leading up to the surgery, and they never made me feel silly or over dramatic- they always answered every little question I had, and were very patient with all of my emails and calls. Dr Mosher was also incredible. He helped set very realistic and proportionate expectations, talked me through the entire process, answered all of my questions and concerns, and was able to guide me into what size would suit my frame the best! He also had a wonderful bedside manner, and was very personable and calming every step of the way. I always felt cared for and heard. He is so talented, and I never could have dreamed that my results would have turned out so well. The day of the surgery also went very very smoothly, and every single person in the surgical facility made sure I was super comfortable and relaxed the entire time. From the first consultation to the final follow up, I had nothing but a fantastic experience. I highly recommend Dr Mosher and the ladies at Yes Medspa to anyone looking to feel like their best selves! Thank you again!
I am deeply grateful to Dr. Mosher for the care he put into my procedure, and for the safety and comfort I felt during my consultations and surgery. My hips were quite out of proportion to my body after incurring a massive hematoma on my left hip at age 15, two surgeries there, and then a 100 pound weight gain and loss. I worked hard on acceptance and learned to dress to camouflage, though it was with me every day. I'm 56, and with skin laxity, fat was concentrating in an ever more concentrated area on both hips. I went to my initial consultation with curiosity. I didn't "need" this surgery and yet wanted to know what Dr. Mosher thought. I felt respected and heard, and with image technology, I could see what my results might look like. Now I'm 5.5 months post-op, I'm loving the skin I'm in. I shared with my nurse Nicole that I look like my mother and sister for the first time in my adult life: tall and athletic, and proportional. She teared up with me. I felt her investment wholeheartedly. This surgery is the biggest, most impactful, gift I've given myself.
I highly recommend Dr. Moser. He performed my gynecomastia surgery this past July. I had a very good experience pre- and post-surgery. His staff was friendly and the nurse who was in charge of my case was very professional and made me feel at ease every time I went into my appointments. Dr. Moser was friendly as well and explained the surgical process to me and what was needed to get rid of my gyno. Post op the nurses were great too. I had nausea and they were very patience with me. I am extremely happy with my results. Almost all scarring is gone and what is left is barely noticeable. The pain was very manageable, and the tightness in my chest was mostly gone in 6 weeks. Now it's nice to wear what I want or go shirtless without worrying about my gyno showing. I know gyno can be an embarrassing subject for some men and surgery can seem daunting and expensive but it's worth it. Especially if you choose a great surgeon like Dr. Moser.
Dr mosher and his team were incredible. I went to him for a breast augmentation after breastfeeding my children. He was knowledgeable, kind, and patient while he explained the procedure to me. His staff were also amazing. The nurses took such good care of me, as I have horrible anxiety and had never been put under anaesthesia before. They made sure to listen to all of my concerns and make sure I was taken care of and comfortable the day of my procedure, and following up. I am now 3 weeks post op, and couldn’t be happier with my results thus far. I have the breasts I always dreamed about having, and now fit into my clothes much better. Recovery was fast, and there was no need for me to take my pain medication. Advil was enough. My scar is barely visible at only week 3. I can’t say enough good things. I normally don’t leave reviews often, but I wanted to write one as I know finding a doctor to trust with your body can be hard. If you’re contemplating seeing dr mosher, I 100% recommend him and his staff. I travelled to see him and it was well worth it. For photo references - I am 5’1, 95 pounds, and got 415 CC ultra high profile, silicone gel, and under the muscle placement. Updated on 7 Apr 2023: 7 month update! Still sooo happy. Not one regret. They feel so natural and soft. I forget they are there 99% of the time and I can sleep on my stomach with no issues. Nipple sensitivity is back to normal and feels like I never had a boob job!
Dr. Mosher gave me a breast implant and lift. His work was nothing short of spectacular. I'm very happy with my now perfect breasts. The staff and follow-up care were excellent as well. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a breast lift.
In general, a deep plane technique involves manipulating the tissue layers under the skin of the face and neck. A skin lift only technique could be referred to as a superficial plane facelift. Historical, the skin was lifted and pulled tight to reduce wrinkles. Wrinkles are also known as "rhytids". Hence these skin only facelift procedures were called "rhytidectomies" as they "removed" or reduced rhytids. Preservation techniques is currently a descriptive term and a marketing term for some surgeons. The technique leaves the skin and the deep layers attached to each other in some areas rather than separating the layers completely. The best technique is one that is customized to each patient and safely performed by an experienced face and neck lifting Plastic Surgeon. These different techniques have been discussed in the peer reviewed literature for more than 50 years. Get more than one opinion and make sure that all of your questions have been answered.
Your confusion is not uncommon because of the marketing used by some providers. Air-sculpting is a marketing term and has nothing to do with "air" or any specific technique. Liposuction refers to removing fat with suction. In all cases local anesthetic (almost always dilute lidocaine with epinephrine) is placed into the fat that we what to reduce in order to make the procedure comfortable and safer. Some providers are only able to provide this procedure under local anesthetic in an office based treatment room while most Plastic Surgeons do this surgery in fully accredited ambulatory surgery centres. In these centres, patients can choose to be asleep (general anesthesia) or awake using local anesthetic only. There are pros and cons to both. Power Assisted Liposuction is potentially more efficient - not better, not more or less traumatic and not necessary for smaller amounts of fat being removed. The results and your safety should be the most important considerations. For safety, choose a board certified Plastic Surgeon and an accredited ambulatory surgery centre.
When considering non-surgical body contouring devices, you must still insist on scientific evidence in peer reviewed journals. Many devices seem similar to the layperson. Devices that causes muscles to contract are not the same. Emsculpt has a large body of literature demonstrating effectiveness, safety and patient satisfaction. There are always going to be devices trying compete and say that they are "just as good as" the leading device in each category. When we reviewed our options we chose Emsculpt over the competition.
Emsella is a unique externally applied magnetic therapy that contracts and strengthens the pelvic floor. Titanium clips used for tubal ligation should be far enough away from the pelvic floor that treatments should be comfortable and effective. Physician oversight is essential to ensure that you are well informed of the risks and benefits.
EmFace is a unique non-surgical and less painful treatment to improve shape and laxity of the face and submental area. Ultherapy was novel technology 10 years ago using focused ultrasound pulses to create tiny injuries under the skin. This stimulated new collagen formation and tightening in some patients. Unfortunately the treatments are uncomfortable and the results underwhelming. EmFace uses magnetic and RF technology to contract facial muscles and heat the tissues uniquely in the forehead, mid-face and submental regions. A series of treatments is completed. Each treatment lasts just 25 minutes, they are not uncomfortable and there is no recovery time involved. In our experience patients see and feel firmer skin and soft tissue. Fat under the chin is reduced and they are excited about the results. We often combine EmFace with other treatments customized to each patient. It is not surgery, no needles and a higher patient satisfaction than other competing devices.
