2 weeks post op of Tummy Tuck, Is my belly button infected? (photo)

Hello bigbabiestoblame:)Your belly button appears normal after an abdominoplasty and your surgeon will probably concur. Some redness/blueness of the belly button skin can occur as a reaction to its movement from surgery. It can also get a little red with daily use of some antibiotic ointment like bacitracin. Ask your surgeon if the antibiotic ointment is needed anymore.Enjoy your bellybutton bigbabiestoblame. 

Your belly button looks fine, although it is a little red. Just continue cleaning it as your surgeon advised and have them check it out on Friday. Good luck.

I don't think this is an infection.  It does look irritated.  Make sure there are no sutures to be removed by checking with your surgeon and I wouldn't clean it too much, just let soapy water run over the area.Best Wishes!!

The photo is not clear enough to tell. Your best bet is to let your surgeon take a quick peek at it.

sometimes its tough to judge from a photo like this, but i suspect all is fine. sometimes patients are sensitive to topical bacitracin, so you may want to stop using it. seeing your surgeon tomorrow is exactly what you need to do and at any other point during your recovery if and when you have concerns that something might be amiss
