Sculptra in the temples?

Sculptra in the temples works very well to add volume for a long-term duration as well as balance the volume of the face.  By softening the bony rim of the eye bones, we achieve a more youthful, softened appearance by bringing light into a convex vs. concave area.  Traditional gel fillers, such as Restylane LYFT, works well for a more immediate outcome whereas Sculptra takes time to appreciate the benefit but does offer an excellent, sustained duration.  In our experience, LYFT has a nice sustainability as well in this confined area.  With regards to using Sculptra in the hair line to create a lifting effect of the eyebrows - not something we are fans of.  Using Botox/Dysport for a brow lift is a much better, safer, less expensive approach.  Further to this, using Restylane or Juvederm along the brow bone is also an option.The below link shows before/after photos of temporal hollow treatments.

Sculptra can be used in the temples and along the hairline to create more volume. I do sculptra into the forehead and scalp all the time.  I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer

I personally inject Sculptra in the temples and submalar hollowing that often comes with age.  I personally have not injected it in the hairline or top of the head, nor can I think of a case where I think it would have been helpful.  

Sculptra is a good option to use in the temples.  However, no matter where you have Sculptra injected it must be done by an expert injector to help avoid complications like lumps - which are completely avoidable if performed correctly. All the best

The temple area is one of the common area missed by injectors. For immediate results fillers made of hyaluronic acid work best. Sculptra works by stimulating your body to make new collagen. It works very well but in needs 2-3 months to get the desired outcome and you might need more than one treatment.

Unlike other injectable fillers, Sculptra is not a filler itself, but an injectable treatment that causes your body to produce its own filler. This means it takes longer to show results, but also that the results may last longer than other filler. When injection into the face, it stimulates your body to produce additional collagen, which will fill in the desired areas. Sculptra might be a good option for you but I recommend getting an in-person consultation with a board-certified dermatologist.

Thanks for the question.  The temples are one of my favorite areas to treat with sculptra because you get more volume and support with it than with other fillers.  I have treated this area with other fillers, and I just don't feel that it's the most economic use of them, as most people need quite a lot of volume here, and given the constant motion of chewing, the fillers tend to not last as long here.  Sculptra, however, gives lasting support and augmentation here in the face of that motion.  Good luck!

Thank you for your question. Sculptra is a great filler for the temple area to fill in hollow temples. I have never done it in the scalp for lifting, but in other areas such as the forehead, cheeks and nasolabial folds with great results.
