I had Botox 3 days ago in my forehead and around eyebrows. Why have I developed swelling above eyebrows? (Photos)

This may be due to swelling or Botox placement. I would wait a full 2 weeks before assessing results. Hope this helps.

Due to the forced relaxation of the muscles by the botox, Xeomin, or Dysport, some people experience temporary swelling in areas near injection sites.  It normally goes away within a week as the product settles in.  If it happens each time, changing the amounts of neurotoxin (botox, Xeomin, Dysport) injected to your forehead will likely be of help, especially the ones above the brows.

One of the important aspects of controlled Botox use is to anticipate not only the response of the injected muscles but also the opposing group. A weakened muscle will change the resting potential of the opposing muscle unless certain degree of weakening is imposed on it. There are many ways to use Botox in that are including "mesobotox" method described long time ago. It provides amazing effect without the "freezing" effect and using much smaller doses. I am sure your injector will be able to remedy the situation without waiting for the initial effect to subside. Good luck!

Denise,I see the swelling above your eyebrows that you are describing.  Botox takes a maximum of 2 weeks to take its full effect, and I would highly advise waiting this amount of time before taking any action other than notifying your injector and taking pictures.  I have seen transient effects like this when treating multiple muscle groups, as some muscle groups show the Botox effect earlier than others, and the "imbalance" of effect can take up to 2 weeks to even out.  If this is still present at the 2 week mark, then having additional Botox injected to even things out may be in order.  I would highly advise waiting the full 2 weeks, as treating before this time would be treating an incomplete result, much like adding salt to a dish you're cooking, and adding more without tasting it first. (Sorry for the odd comparison, but it's the best I can do right now).  Good luck!
