Can fillers lift the cheeks or do I need a mid face lift? (Photo)

Question

It seems my cheeks have fallen. My lower cheeks have great volume when I smile, but my upper cheeks and under eye are hollow. This is also causing my face to look bottom heavy and changed the shape of my once heart shaped face to change. My forehead has also become hollow. How can this be corrected?

There are a lot of options for you.  I would suggest seeing a facial contouring specialist who works with younger patients doing antiaging/preventative treatments.  Injections with cannulas hurt less and decrease bruising and swelling and I would suggest you find someone who does that type of injection technique.  Best, Dr. Emer.

You do not need a midface lift. Voluma is what you need to fill out the areas that are slightly depressed. this should be done in the conservative fashion so you look normal. Seen an experienced injector for this.

Hi Bambi. Thank you for providing great pictures. In my opinion, a mid-face lift would be way to aggressive. You would be a great candidate for a dermal filler such as Voluma or Radiesse in the cheek and Restylane in the tear trough region. Follow up with an experienced injector who can give you options.

There is some mild facial asymmetry  with the left side being the less volumised. You also lost volume in the lower eyelid area and this is more prominent on the left. The tired look you describe can be reversed by smoothing the contours in the eyelid-midcheek junction. I would use a high viscosity filler to coat the zygoma and lift the midcheek and a smoother filler (like Belotero) to replenish the volume of the eyelids. This could be staged in 2 sessions. The left upper eyelid is slightly lower than the right but I wouldn't recommend any surgeryResearch carefully your options and opt for a physician who specialises on the face.

Bambi1, consider saline injections to begin; if you don't like it it 's gone very soon. If you like saline proceed with voluma or radiesse. Should that be enough you are fine. I would not be doing a midface lift on you. Good luck!
