I have a consulation next week for a breast augmentation, and I've been looking at some before and after pictures of breast augmentations, and was curious if there was a way to avoid the aeroelas size increase. I think mine may get bigger, and that's not what I want.

Answer: How to prevent areolae widening after a breast augmentation
After a breast augmentation, some women may experience widening of the areolae. This can be prevented by doing a couple of things. First, the size of the implants can affect the widening. The larger the implants, the larger the areolae can stretch. Therefore, if you're very concerned about the eventual size of your areolae I would recommend a more conservative breast implant size. Also, placing the implants "underneath the muscles" of the chest will help out as well. This adds an extra layer of protection between the implant and the areola. I've performed many breast augmentations with minimal, if any, increase in areola size. Visit the web page below for some examples. Thank you for your question!

Answer: Areolar size after BA
Typically, if you put the implant behind the muscle, or dual-plane, it's rare to see significant size changes in the areolar diameter. Above the muscle implants seem to stretch out the areolar size more often, in my experience.
