I had an eyebrow implant using the FUT method on July 5th. I have a rhinoplasty scheduled for July 29th and wanted to ask if it would be safe to proceed with this procedure so soon after my eyebrow implant.
Answer: Check with your surgeon I always recommend check with you surgeon but my guess is not because if you're getting FUT, you will have an incision on the back of your head, and then for the rhino you will be laying on that for a good while.

Answer: Rhinoplasty The thing that you don’t know is whether the swelling and trauma from the rhinoplasty will affect the eyebrow grafts. It might or it might not but something to consider doing them that close together

Answer: Rhinoplasty surgery should not affect your eyebrow hair transplant. This is a unique question, however, I can not understand how rhinoplasty surgery could affect the viability of a hair transplant. For a more definitive answer, please consider asking your transplant specialist and rhinoplasty specialist for peace of mind. Thank you for your question, and good luck moving forward. Sincerely, Dr. Joseph

Answer: Rhinoplasty timing Hello and thank you for your question. I would recommend waiting at least three months for Rhinoplasty. There will be swelling after surgery and you don’t want the new eyebrows hairs to be damaged. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. Harvard-trained plastic surgeon

Answer: Anesthesia Shock loss Hello, I hope I am not too late to weigh in or that I can be helpful to anyone reading this with the same question in the future. For a number of reasons, I implore you to further space these procedures for the safest and best results. In general, I would not advise to have anesthesia scheduled so close together. Starting with any kind of transplant, consider the donor area and the transplant area. The donor area will most likely come from the back of the head, where hair growth is universally the strongest. During rhinoplasty, you will be on a table, on your back causing friction to this area directly. As for the transplant area, while it’s not in contact with the nose, it is nearby which could pose for concerns in the surgery. My biggest reasoning would be if you care about the long-term result of your newly implanted follicles to avoid anesthesia a minimum of 6 months. Shock-loss by way of anesthesia may occur with any procedure where anesthesia is administered, but especially would disrupt new hair growth. For the best outcome of your recent transplant, it’s best to wait 6 months or more for your transplant to take.
