Abdominoplasty March 2018 & still have tummy muscle spasms & they get worse - why?

Muscle spasms are uncommon after this surgery and if they occur post op, they usually resolve within a year. Since these continue, there may be something else causing this problem. I would see another doctor for evaluation. An MRI might be indicated. I'm sorry for your problems.

I'm sorry to hear about your muscle spasms. It is not typical for them to last past the normal recovery period. There are prescription medications that can help. Perhaps further testing is needed to discover what may be triggering them.

Would you describe is a typical though it’s not all that unusual for patients that have a little challenge getting over some new, potentially uncomfortable sensations after having this major operation.
The problem is the plastic surgeons are not trained in things unrelated to plastic surgery.
A full tummy tuck is a permanent and irreversible operation. Unfortunately, sometimes people have secondary issues like sensations of tightness, discomfort, range of motion, or other issues that come with the procedure better difficult to get used to. The secondary issues, however, I’m not treatable by the tools, plastic surgeons have at their disposal.
If your surgeon knew the way to treat you, I’m sure he or she would be happy to do so.
You may want to ask for a referral to a neurologist, physical medicine, and rehabilitation doctor, or potentially a referral for physical therapy.
These other providers may also be at a loss, but they may have things in their toolbox. The plastic surgeons doesn’t because your condition is no longer surgical. In other words, we don’t treat muscle spasms by operating on people.
The situation you describe sounds very frustrating. In the end, there may not be any treatment. Before saying you’ve exhausted all resources I do recommend checking with a few other medical specialties.
Pain management is also another medical specialty that may be useful for you.
