I am really thin (157cm and 43kg) But i have a lot of skin due to 3 pregancies in 3 years. I am thinking of doing renuvion to try to tight my skin. The doctor said he would open the way first with vaser and then do renuvion. My biggest concern is the burn that can cause, what are the chances for that?
Answer: What are the chances of Renuvion causing burns? Thank you for your question. I looked at your previous post at your loose skin. I would use the same technique as it was proposed to you. I use the VASER to release the skin and then use the Renuvion. The risk of burning the skin is zero if your surgeon is well trained using these powerful devices. You have to give 6-8 months for the Renuvion result. At that point it can be repeated, or you might do well with lower abdominal skin excision. Good luck.

Answer: Skin Tightening Options This is a great question. Dr. Ruter here from Syracuse Plastic Surgery in Syracuse New York. Without evaluating you in person I can't give you an exact plan. Personally, I believe there is a higher risk of burns from vaser than renuvion so we only do renuvion in our practice for surgical skin tightening. Even so, the risk is very low. There are other non surgical radiofrequency devices that can do mild skin tightening like morpheus. If you have a lot of skin laxity after pregnancy you may benefit more from a skin excision procedure depending upon the location. Vaser and Renuvion can give a mild improvement with minimal scarring.

Answer: Renuvion Complications from using Renuvion is fairly low unless the provider goes outside of recommended guidelines. There have been complications reported with this device. I think the VASER is more likely to cause skin damage. My first-hand experience using Renuvion did not demonstrate any significant skin tightening, but either myself or my patience. Eventually, I could no longer recommend using the device because it failed to deliver anything worth paying for and I’ve have since sold my machine. It was an expensive mistake and I wish I never purchased the Renuvion device. If you have skin laxity and want a tight abdomen, then a tummy tuck is the only procedure that’s going to do that. Saxity is the number one reason why patients failed to get impressive Liposuction results. Make sure your provider shows you lots of before, and after pictures of previous patients who had very similar skin characteristics to your own, so you know what results are likely to look like. Providers should not have a shortage of before and after pictures. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
