Splitting/popping internal sutures 4 weeks post breast augmentation

Question

I am 4 weeks post op. I was just laying down with my daughter in her bed, and was attempting to lay on my side, with my arm bent behind my head. There were numerous popping sensations, along with pain along the bottom of my breast (by the incision). You can now feel the implant and tiny bumps (I'm assuming broken sutures), and I'm having pain, especially when I move my arm. It's a Sunday. Do I call my surgeon? Wait? Everything looks okay, but it feels different and I am mild having pain.

Thank you for your question. With this type of significant and sudden change, there is no question about what you should do. You need to call your surgeon ASAP and be seen for an examination. This may not be emergent and may not even need surgical intervention, but you and your surgeon need to discuss this after he or she has had a chance to take a look.Best of luck!

you must see your surgeon since your surgeon knows what was done and if any sutures were placed that could have torn and to evaluate you for any changes.  If no changes, its very unlikely that anything adverse occurred but its still good to get reassurances from your surgeon.
