I've committed myself to a fitness and weight loss routine as a result of a borderline hypertension diagnosis. My health and BP has improved greatly, but the loss of weight has emphasized the crepey, paper like skin on my neck. This is a condition that plagues all of the women in my family. Is there something that can be done to improve the appearance of my neck so it doesn't look so OLD? I am a 50 year old former smoker, I do not drink, and my BP is now normal.
Answer: Elevase creams for the neck In our office, we use a combination of moisturizing creams (Elevase Moisture Booster) + Fractional CO2 laser to improve the crepey skin of the neck. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles

Answer: What can be done for crepey neck? Hi Jtomalley,Thank you for sharing your question with us,A Consultation with your chosen surgeon, will give you the opportunity to discuss your requirements and have an examination of the areas of concern. The facelift I perform is under a local anaesthetic which means a significantly reduced downtime. Most of my patients want a facelift however do not want the downtime associated. The Concept Facelift and Neck Lift is the procedure I perform, which combines the latest surgical techniques with the use of local anaesthetic to dramatically reduce the risks associated with traditional facelifts, while significantly reducing the bruising and downtime of your recovery, from months to a matter of days. If you have lax facial skin, lost volume and feel that you have jowls and wrinkles on your cheeks and you look tired when you're not then the concept facelift can help improve your appearance. With concept facelift you will look natural and fresh just like the way you feel inside. There are no bandages, drains and hospital stay but with lasting results of traditional facelift techniques it fits with today's age. Typically recovery period is 7-10 days as you do tend to bruise more with your eyes than a facelift and neck lift. You would need to return for a follow up appointment 7 days later to check your healing progress. What are the benefits of a local anaesthetic facelift? Minimally invasive as it is a short scar facelift, although has the same effects as the Traditional Facelift as the SMAS muscle is tightened along with the skin. There is minimal bruising and swelling, especially when compared to traditional faceliftsAs the procedure is performed under local anaesthetic, you can go straight home following the procedureFull recovery in a matter of days rather than monthsSignificantly less risk than Facelifts performed under general anaestheticFresh, youthful and long lasting resultsAll the best and good luck

Answer: What Can Be Done For Crepey Neck It's best to begin by consulting with a surgeon in-person. The presence of banding down the front of the #neck, and, amount of excess skin and condition of your skin are among some factors which determine what treatments will best rejuvenate your neck . During your initial examination, your chin will be evaluated along with the neck and jawline. A weak #chin implies a lack of chin support for the skin along the neck line. In younger individuals a chin implant alone is usually all that is needed to improve the appearance of the neck. Subsequently, it will also improve the overall #balance of the face and can create the illusion of a smaller nose. As a stand-alone procedure, chin augmentation can be performed in the office under local #anesthesia. For individuals with signs of #aging in the neck, a chin implant added to one of the recommended procedures above, will provide optimal results. However, you may want to consider Lite-lift™ which is an affordable, quick, and effective innovative facelift developed by board-certified plastic surgeons Dr. Larry Nichter and myself. The goal of the #LiteLift is to provide a less invasive natural looking option for both men and women desiring to refresh their appearance with less downtime and risks. The LiteLift® is a “real” facelift, which does address the underlying muscle, tissue and overlying skin. This is a modified facelift that can be performed in the office with a local anesthetic and improve signs of aging around the neck, jawbone and lower face. These procedures are not "Thread-lifts" or "String-lifts". We do not use the "barbed" sutures employed in these other lifting operations. The Lite-lift™ uses longer lasting techniques. Because the incisions are limited, there is less bruising, swelling and healing time for most patients. Many patients can be back to work in one to two weeks looking rested and more youthful. The best candidates for #LiteLift are non-smoking patients 35-60 years old with stable skin elasticity, well-defined bone structure but showing early changes of the lower face and the neck. Older patients who cannot or do not wish to have a longer operation or general anesthetic can be improved with a Lite Lift™. All in all, Lite Lift™ surgery is individualized for each patient. A board certified plastic surgeon should evaluate both your anatomical features and aesthetic goals to suggest which procedure best suits your needs. In some cases there may be more than one option to choose from. If you are not a candidate at the time of your #consultation, your board surgeon can recommend non-surgical alternatives to address your concern

Answer: Neck Lift Best for Crepey Neck Unfortunately, the noninvasive skin tightening techniques that are currently available have produced less than optimal results on the neck. It is my opinion that the only way to get dramatic improvement in loose and crepey neck skin is to go for a neck lift, which will also tighten the underlying platysma muscle. A neck lift will give you a dramatic improvement in your jawline and neck and should last for up to five to eight years.

Answer: Crepy Necks often need lower face/neck lifts. Fixing the crepy neck is best done with an advanced lower face/neck lift under local with a little IV sedation for roughly $9800 on special and is so easy to undergo. It really smooths and tightens the areas nicely. Sincerely, david Hansen,md
