36 years old- Would I be a candidate for Kybella or Chin Lipo? (Photos)

I am personally not a fan of Kybella. For it to work, you need multiple treatments and there is swelling and pain for a few weeks after each treatment. I think that targeted lipo is always better, and it only requires 1 recovery. It can also usually be done under local anesthesia. Given the choice, I think most plastic surgeons who recommend liposuction if you are open to that.

Yes, you look like a candidate for submental liposuction based on what I see in the photos. I am generally not a fan of Kybella because it causes worse and longer swelling, is less controlled, and often requires multiple rounds. The addition of radiofrequency skin tightening would also be helpful to help tighten the skin in the area, as well.

There are certain areas on the body that have stubborn fat which cannot be targeted with diet and exercise. This includes the area below our jawline and chin. Performing liposuction on the area below the chin and jawline will remove this stubborn fat, give you a defined jawline, and a slimmer appearance. Liposuction will also prevent the fat from returning in this area despite weight gain and time.

Submental fat can be a problem area for a lot of patients. Through weight fluctuations or even genetics, this area can be very stubborn and hard to remove on one's own. Based on your images provided, you could be a candidate for either Kybella or Liposuction. It is a minimal area of fullness, and a true full evaluation would be required by your physician that you choose. They will be able to let you know how many sessions of Kybella would be required to achieve your desired results, or they could formulate a treatment plan for liposuction. It is important to find a provider who is qualified and knowledgeable in these procedures to ensure best results. I think you would potentially be a candidate for either Kybella or chin liposuction. The question, likely, for you will be which one sounds more like it is in line with your goals, budget, and expectations for undergoing a procedure. There are various pros and cons of neck liposuction versus Kybella, but I think a reasonable summary is that the former is more powerful as a one-time events and the latter is more subtle and may require repeat treatments. Kybella is deoxycholic acid, which dissolves fat, and the amounts that people tend to use sometimes underapproximate the recommended guidelines: "Treat each patient individually - every submental fat profile is unique. Average dosing per treatment in clinical trials First treatment*: 6.4 mL (≈ 4 single-use vials) Sixth treatment†: 4.4 mL (≈ 3 single-use vials)." It is not really possible to know how much fat is dissolved with such treatment, but - as compared to the clinical effects of neck liposuction, where 30-75 cc of fat are often removed - Kybella likely dissolves somewhere between the equivalent of 10-40 cc of fat. This is evidenced by the fact that few people ask to have neck liposuction repeated, whereas it is not uncommon for Kybella injections to need a repeat treatment for full effect. The upside for some patients, though, is that Kybella is a non-surgical procedure that can be done in an office setting without anesthesia, and patients can go home afterwards without some of the recovery process that is typical of neck liposuction, which is associated with more swelling, bruising, and requires more use of compression garments. So there are certainly pros and cons of each approach. A conversation with a surgeon can help you decide together what will best serve your goals without introducing anything you'd like to avoid in the process.

it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Based on your photos, it looks like you would benefit from chin liposuction. Kybellla will work well for you. Chin Lipo and thermitight is excellent but might be an overkill in your case.

There are three or four good options for you. Treatments like kybella, or fat freezing, can work but are slower and require multiple treatments.
Liposuction is a good choice as it will likely get rid of that area completely, and quickly.
Also, there is something called necktite. This is probably the best choice for you. It's a combination of liposuction and energy to shrink and tighten skin so that the newly empty of fat skin doesn't sag as you age. All of these can be done right in the office!

Great posted photos. The issue is non surgery vs minimal surgery. KyBella injections would be in 2-3 sessions about 4-6 weeks apart, with swelling post injection for 3-4 days+. Fee for 2 sessions $2,500. Long healing to see effect. If doing local anesthesia of under chin via liposuction, fee $2,500, healed in 1 week. You decide....
