Hi there. I got chin liposuction and noticed these lines pretty quickly. I was hopeful they would go away with daily massages and wearing my compression garment but they seem to have only gotten worse. I’m not even sure what they are. It’s two hard lines that star from the incision and run halfway down my neck. They are very tight, it hurts to lift my neck up.
Answer: Recommend having a revision done to release the tension. Follow with morpheus8 to help contour the neck and jawline a non-invasive skin and soft tissue tightening treatment that is consistently amazing in our patients. We use the Morpheus to exact fractional induced RF into the skin or tissue in order to tighten collagen and stimulate contraction of the tissue. For acne scars, it is quite useful to build collagen in patients who have atrophic scars but is not very productive for ice-pick scars which require TCA Cross. For tissue tightening, Morpheus is ideal for the face and neck and we often combine it with CO2 laser or Ultherapy to further enhance results. Chemical peels and skin resurfacing should be done at least 5 to 7 days after, but can be performed earlier, depending on treatment severity. Avoid exfoliating skin treatments before Morpheus and expect a period of 2-4 weeks for skin contraction to set in. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Need to come in to consult For unique cases where a variety of modalities could be used to treat the condition, I would suggest an in-person or virtual consultation to develop a custom and effective treatment plan. It is difficult to precisely define the best option without collecting the same information. I suggest reaching out to an expert for a consultation with surgical and non-surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Chin liposuction Dear VanillaOtterPaw, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Contract Allabands after liposuction I’ve had this happen to one patient and have communicated with six others who posted on real self. The bands tend to be very tight and both string when the neck is extended. Some people may think they are regular platysmal bands but they are not. Platysmal bands are soft and do not gradually get worse than better after liposuction. They are in the same location as traditional platysmal bands which are seen in older people and it can sometimes become exposed when the fat is removed with Liposuction. Traditional platysmal bands respond to Botox treatment but they are not string like and simply represent the edges of the platysma muscle. The scar tissue bands that can form after this procedure typically resolve on their own but the process can take a year and sometimes longer. I don’t know why they form in this location. One of your pictures shows your lipel suction was done a little on the aggressive side. that area looks slightly overtreated and slightly indented. I’m curious what your provider thinks they are or other providers who may respond to your post. I still don’t know the ideology, why some people get them or have any specific treatment other than time which does seem to improve the condition. Regular platysmal bands do not improve with time and typically are seen in older individuals. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
