Thanks for the question. After 2-4 weeks your operation area is totally healed and yes you can do exercising and also do other sport activities. I wish you all the best.
Thank you for your questions. Different surgeons have different aftercare advice. I would suggest speaking with your consultant in regards to when you can exercise after your facelift.Generally if it is performed under local anaesthetic, we advise not to exercise for 2 weeks, then starting off with light exercise at first.Kind regards
Usually I recommend waiting between 4 and 6 weeks after surgery. However, I suggest you ask your plastic surgeon as everyone heals differently and they may say otherwise.Christian Drehsen, M.D.
Thank you for your question. This is one that we hear quite often from our patients. I would consult with your surgeon for his/her direction on this; typically though, we recommend no strenuous exercise for at least 4 weeks after surgery. This is to help keep swelling and blood pressure down while the tissues heal. Also be careful bending over in the immediate period after a facelift. Again, I would ask your surgeon for his/her specific instructions. I hope that this helps!-David Gilpin
Thank you for your question. Most surgeons have a set time they like to tell their patients to resume exercise after a face lift procedure. You should certainly listen to your surgeon's recommendations. I typically tell my patients 3 weeks for light work outs, but 6-8 weeks before returning to their "normal" work out routine. I also tell them all the bruising needs to be gone before returning to exercise. Please listen to your surgeon and their suggestions since he/she is the one caring for you.
Hi. Without knowing the details of your medical history, meds used or surgery details, a general safe interval is to wait at least 4 weeks before exercising. The increase in blood pressure and heart rate can cause a delayed bleed, which means bruising will result. (If significant amounts of blood collects, then the collection will need to be drained.) Your lymphatic channels are not completely healed/connected for several weeks, and so swelling may return with exercising too soon. Please check with your operating surgeon for more detailed guidance. Best wishes,
Dear Blucy,Thank you for your question. The answer may vary slightly by surgeon and you should have this address by your surgeon at your in-office visit. In my practice, I usually clear patients to resume exercise 2 weeks after surgery. They are instructed to start ambulating soon after surgery though to prevent blood clots.
It is hard to determine an exact amount of time as every patient is different and heals differently. I usually tell my patients about three to four weeks. My patients have follow up visits every week at first and when I see fit every two weeks then three weeks and so on. I recommend you speak directly with your Plastic Surgeon so that they can determine when it would be best for you to continue exercise. Thank you for your question and good luck during your healing process!
Thanks for your question! Every surgeon is different, but I like my patients to wait 3 weeks prior to resuming any aerobic activity. Make sure to ask your specific plastic surgeon because he/she likely has their own protocol they want you to follow. Good luck!
For the first 2 weeks, exercise should be limited to avoid increasing blood pressure. After that, gradual increase in exercise is possible as long as significant strain is not put on the neck muscles and turning the head.
There is a layer of fascia overlying the buccal fat pads that can be pierced. The protrusion of the buccal fat through the deep fascia causes the type of bulge that you have. If it is not recognized during surgery, and the rent in the fascia sutured, the usual solution is...
The pony tail effect in my understanding would be a firm and high cheek/cheekbone and clean jawline. Age is not the decisive factor but your specific situation is. If for instance highlighting the cheek/cheekbone area seems to give you a substantial benefit, the correction could be limite...
Whenever I see a patient with attached earlobes before surgery I perform a little procedure that converts it to a detached lobe. Simple to avoid or fix pixie earlobes but the surgeon needs to know how.
Thank you for your question and pictures. You would be an amazing candidate for neck liposuction to remove any fat under the chin area, this could be combined with a local anaesthetist facelift and necklift which will remove any excess skin. This would help achieve a contoured L shaped neck an...
Thank you for your question. There is no exact number of procedures that I can give you to determine if your surgeon is qualified to perform the procedure or not. I know of a few doctors that perform many procedures that are not even plastic surgeons so there is no magic number to finding a...
I do not believe it is frank necrosis, but it does appear to be epidermolysis. If taken care of adequately, it should heal well. Necrosis is when there is full thickness skin death.
