I am slated to get rhinoplasty done in July, but my doc pointed out my profile may be more balanced if I got a chin implant as well. This would have to be done as a completely different surgery because he ONLY does rhinoplasty, but - I am wondering if just Kybella would help define and get me a good improvement to my profile?
Answer: Need to come in to consult For unique cases where a variety of modalities could be used to treat the condition, I would suggest an in-person or virtual consultation to develop a custom and effective treatment plan. It is difficult to precisely define the best option without collecting the same information. I suggest reaching out to an expert for a consultation with surgical and non-surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Options for chin augmentation I agree with your doctor that your profile would really benefit from a chin augmentation. The bottom lip should ideally line up with the projection of the chin and your chin is quite recessed. Rather than go right to surgery, you should instead try Voluma injections to the chin. This is a safe, long-lasting filler that would really balance the face. Once the chin is brought forward, the Voluma there will actually lift the tissue off the neck, and you may very well not need any further treatment! You will be thrilled at the difference it will make. Make sure the doctor you choose is experienced and board certified to ensure the best possible result.

Answer: Chin implant or Kybella? I think the issue with your chin is more due to lack of projection than excess fat underneath, so I would recommend a chin implant for you. Chin augmentation and rhinoplasty will both help to balance your profile.

Answer: Kybella or chin implants Dear AnnaKB, KYbella and chin implants treat different issues. Kybella can be used for removal of fat under the chin while chin implants are used for recessed chin. Kybella typically takes 3 to 5 treatments to work. This is why I've stopped carrying Kybella in my office. I recommend neck liposuction more often then any injectable procedure for the neck now. It provides superior results gives me more control over the area than any injectable. It also costs about the same as what you paid for your first kybella session. The liposuction can be done under local while awake in the office and recovery is about the same as kybella. Answer: Kybella or Chin Implant Thank you for your questions and providing photos. It is always best to be assessed in person to receive the most thorough treatment plan. Proportions are so important especially from a side view as you have posted. Filler such as Radiesse can be placed into the chin area, however, to give you an enhanced side profile by improving your proportions. I would begin there and possibly move on to Kybella should you want further definition to your submittal (under chin) tissue. Of course, filler is temporary with Radiesse lasting about 16-18 months. A chin implant can provide you with a really great improvement, as well should you wanna surgical option.
