Hi there! I have stubborn pigmentation from prior sun damage/acne, melasma from pregnancy, and ruddiness/redness from rosacea. I have tried IPLs, clear and brilliant, VI peels at the dermatologist. I use retinol, hydroquinone/arbutin, vitamin C, and sunscreen religiously in my routine. What else would you recommend for someone like me? I'm willing to deal with some intense downtime if the results will actually be impactful. Thank you in advance!
I have a nose that shows the inside of my nostrils easily (the tip hangs over a bit; I believe the technical term is a hanging columella), and people keep asking me if my nose is bleeding because I have tiny red veins on the inside of my nostrils. Is this something that can be addressed safely and not too painfully with IPL? If not, something else? Thanks!
Hi, i am skin type 3 and have had about 10 total IPLs with good results, and redness always subsided after 1 hour. I recently started seeing someone new who told me welts are normal but i never had them with the last practitioner. Should I be concerned? The welt is just below the tear trough area and looks similar to raised 1st degree burn. It burns still 24 hours later. Like i said, the practitioner said it is normal but I am seeking additional recommendations since I am in mild pain. Thanks!
I received IPL in November of 2023 on my back to treat dark spots from acne and KP. After my treatment, I felt like I was on fire and could not even put my bra back on. Its been 8 months and the laser burns still exist. It has faded some but still noticeable. Im avoiding the sun this summer so the laser marks do not get worst. Is there anything I can use or do to completely get the burns to disappear?
I am a 33 year old woman, and a few years ago I kicked the daily compulsion to pick at the subcutaneous filaments on my nose. I started when I was 8 years old. I would often pick to the point of making my nose very red, and swollen blotchy, and swollen. Now my nose has a constant red color, especially when cold or exercising. Only one tiny visible capillary; its mostly just an overall red color. Would IPL be the best treatment approach or something else?
I have poikiloderma but the dermotoligist that diagnosed me said it will be 3 sessions at $1400 per session to treat my back of neck and front of neck/chest (just top area of chest it didnt really go beyond bottom of my neck. None on face. Is this like the going rate because others tell me they did it much much less. Plus my derm said there was no guarantee 3 times was enough and it could be 4 or 5. I really want to get rid of this
32, F. Sought hair removal from Esthetician in 2023. She used Dermaplus IPL Zeus device (supplier Supramedical 2019, only newer models sold now). Had much success in bikini area after 5-6 session. In 12/2023 we started lower face. Esthetician asked if she could do forehead hairs; I thought she meant hair growing up from eyebrows. She then stamped the device up the entire left side of my face into hairline. After 1 yr, regrowth of my left sideburn & hairline is sparse, thin, light.
I will be taking Prednisone, tapering off, for a month. I have an appointment for a facial IPL treatment the week after with a dermatologist. I've had two previous IPL treatments, a year apart, with the same physician and have done fine. However, I wonder if it is wise to have an IPL treatment so close to taking Prednisone this time.
