	Breast Reduction is done under general anesthesia. Incisions are made around the pigmented area (the nipple areolar complex) and extend vertically below the nipple and in the fold under the breast. The nipple areolar complex is moved upward to the desired location, while excess breast tissue, skin, and fat are removed.


Patient is 5'5 , 160 pounds and consulted with Dr. Schaffer about improving the appearance of her breasts. Breast Reduction surgery was recommended to reduce the size and weight of the breasts.

The patient is a 40-year-old female who presented to my office with complaints of back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain and bra strap grooving associated with large breasts. I felt the patient would benefit from bilateral breast reduction surgery.In surgery, I performed a vertical scar breast reduction. A total of approximately 183 grams was removed from the right breast and 190 grams from the left. The patient was very happy with her new appearance and was extremely pleased with the improvement in her back and neck pain.

This patient underwent a breast reduction procedure. Her goal was to make the breasts smaller and lighter to improve her neck/back pain and allow her to get back to being more active.

We managed to remove a staggering 1450g from her right breast, and 1300g from the left: A total of almost 2.8kg weight off her shoulders.She is now able to start to exercise more, to reduce her weight further  she feels like a new woman!

This 39 year-old female was diagnosed with left sided breast cancer. Because of her high risk of developing breast cancer on the opposite side, she opted for bilateral mastectomies. The removal of the breast tissue was performed through an incision on the bottom of the breast (i.e. the inframammary fold). In order to prevent the animation deformity that is sometimes seen in submuscular breast reconstruction, the MENTOR ARTOURA Breast Tissue Expanders were placed in the prepectoral position and covered with Alloderm. Several months later, the expanders were replaced with the most advanced, new MemoryGel XTRA silicone implants. A small amount of fat transfer to help contour the upper portion of the breast was performed as a minor procedure several months later. Postoperative result at 1 year shows excellent symmetry and shape, preservation of the nipple tissue, all designed to the patients desire to also increase breast volume.
