i had keyhole surgery to remove my appendix but it's been 10 years since the surgery and about a year or two after the surgery my belly button has had some many infections, smelly, leaky issues for a while and as off 6 months ago it gets painful around the belly button area, and it makes me quite nauseous. my question is what I can do for it or should I just get it removed. I've tried many antibiotics to get rid of infection but nothing seems to be working at all to make it better.
I had a tummy tuck 18 months ago and just had a belly button revision 3 weeks ago. Iv all of the sudden developed redness and swelling with a dark purple line where the incision was. There is also discomfort. I sent my surgeon pictures and he said looks like inflammation. Im currently out of state and panicking because im unable to see him in person. Should i visit an emergency room here or am i safe to wait until i go home?
I recieved a tummy tuck, muscle repair and lipo on my flanks 3 years ago. After my surgery my husband and I didn't get the proper instructions to care for my bellybutton after my surgery. My bellybutton got infected and healed very ugly and now I have a keloid surrounding my bellybutton. I did receive steroid treatment after to shrink it but I stopped because it started to change my skin color on the injection areas. My bellybutton scar is thick and it hurts.
I'm 6 months post op from a tummy tuck and BA. I suffered a belly button infection 11/2 days after surgery with pseudomonas. I believe It was due to neurotic tissue. My belly button is healed now and has keloid scar tissue all around it. A consulted surgeon said my BB died and since it has keloids it will be very difficult to do a revision. That removing the keloids would leave a big hole. Any advice would be very much appreciated. Would a revision work? How long do I have to wait?
I had a tummy tuck 4 years ago and my belly button has almost closed completely. I went to my surgeon 1.5 years ago to see what could be done. He told me to try stretching it. I can barely get a q-tip in it, and Im starting to get infections. My surgeon has recently retired. Because Im experiencing infections will a revision be covered under insurance?
I have seen my ps who has advised me to do wound care for the week I'm going to be 2 weeks post op in 2 days and I will be seeing him again. I'm just concerned because there is a hole and it's freaking me out. Will this hole close on it's own?
