Belly button almost closed and gets infected. 4 years post tummy tuck. Would a revision be covered under insurance?

I had a tummy tuck 4 years ago and my belly button has almost closed completely. I went to my surgeon 1.5 years ago to see what could be done. He told me to try stretching it. I can barely get a q-tip in it, and I’m starting to get infections. My surgeon has recently retired. Because I’m experiencing infections will a revision be covered under insurance?

it is unlikely that your belly button surgery will be covered by insurance company. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

Generally speaking insurance is for functional defects and prevention of illness. I highly doubt an unsatisfactory belly button would be considered a functional defect but you can try assuming you find a surgeon willing to submit it. Best
