Belly button looks infected and separated. Will this heal with wound care? Will it close up? (Photos)

Thanks for the question and sorry that you are so concerned and worried. I am sure this will be a worrying thing to look at but try not to be worried. The wound looks like it has broken down - might be secondary to a superficial infeciton or a stitch abscess. Either way it looks to be healing okay and your PS is doign the right thing by monitoring you. It will heal up on its own and the hole will not remain. YOu may end up with a slightly wider scar here which is not a worry as this can always be revised at a later date.I hope this helps to alleviate some anxiety.KR

Thank you for your question. Sorry that you have such an anxious time. The good news is this will heal up. The bad news is it will take a bit of time so you will need to be patient. Your PS is doing the right thing by monitoring and checking it is all healing well. Once all is healed it will either not require anything doing or might need a small scar revision if the scar is too thick. I hope this helpsBW
