With Botox and fillers, he knows what he is doing

My experiences with Dr. Russo are with Botox and fillers. I can’t speak to other procedures, but with these, he knows what he is doing. I’ve had some of the same procedures done in Bloomington and the results from Dr. Russo far exceed previous work from another doctor. I am pleased!

Face Lift Revision. Champaign, IL

Dr. Russo and his entire staff are excellent. His talented and artistic work to revise a facelift and blepharoplasty (I had in Peoria that went terribly wrong), made me feel confident again and I am very pleased with his work. I recommended him highly. He also does great work with fillers and fat grafting.

Liquid Facelift - Champaign, IL

GREAT! In nasolabial fold and periorbital (hollow) areas. No bruising at all! He did a fantastic job! Went back to work the same day and nobody noticed that someone had poked around in my face! I've had more swelling and bruising from a cavity filling than injecting ~ 1.5 ml of filler around my mouth and eyes. ___________________________

Not Really Worth It - Champaign, IL

I am 57 years old and had Ultherapy in Sept. 2011. It was an extremely painful procudure and I left very, very bruised from the injections they gave for the pain. It looked like someone beat me around the side of the face and jaw. I was black and blue for 2 weeks. I hadn't planned to have any time off and was so embarrassed to appear at work. I never had any followup after the procedure...I think they knew something went wrong. This was an introductory price for a this office. I don't think the tech was experienced. Never had followup. Not much improvement.

AVOID THE HALO LASER !!!!

I had this treatment done 6/2016 for melasma at Rejuvenis, Champaign, IL, I was told it wouldn’t hurt and there would be no downtime. I was also told it would make my melasma better. These were all LIES! First of all, this treatment hurt like hell and my face swelled up so large I looked like a completely different person. The pain and itching were a complete nightmare and it took 10 days for my face to be presentable in public. Now, 2 yrs later, not only is the melasma worse, but I now have post inflammatory hyperpigmentation from that stupid laser that has never gone away. Please, please avoid this laser and save your skin. It’s too late for me, as my bad decision was already made. I should also mention that I tried to contact the technician, Coleen who did the treatment and she completely ignored me after I sent her pictures. Really nice of her. I hope this review at least saves some of you out there a lot of anguish and devastation from this terrible treatment!!

CO2 Laser Full-Face Resurfacing - Champaign, IL

I wanted to have laser resurfacing done to correct acne scarring that was generalized in my left and right cheek area. I consulted and had this procedure done in 2005. I thought I was ready to undertake something that had been bothering me for a very long time, and I borrowed money to do this. The sad thing about this is that some doctor's don't care that you are borrowing money or that you are trying to feel better instead of worse. They only care about your money. To give you some insight on my experience, please read........I am caucasian, but have a Native American heritage, which makes my skin without tanning an olive/yellow complexion. However, when I did tan, my complexion could become very tanned. In short, I am saying my skin had color. I was not a milky, white, fair complexion person, even without tanning. I consulted in Champaign, Illinois. The doctor never mentioned to me that because I was of color that I would have adverse affects. Of course you sign paperwork that you could potentially have side-effects. However, in consultation he didn't ever tell me that what has happened would happen or that I was not a good candidate for this procedure. My problems after full-face CO2 laser resurfacing.....a have hypo and hyperpigmentation in different areas of my face. The hypopigmented area is localized over most of my face, but I also have an area of demarcation in my right jaw line. I have dark circles around my eyes where the goggles had been placed. I have hyperpigmentation on my forehead and beneath my right eye area. After going back to him to consult about correcting this, I was in the office manager's office when he came in and as we were talking, he looked at the office manager and said, "she was so young that I didn't think that I should do her eyes because she didn't have wrinkles or any problems." And, was going to charge me to correct his mistake. After that, I thought I need to eventually find someone who will know how to address me issue, which I haven't found yet. He didn't consider that my natural skin color would be darker and I would eventually look like a raccoon because he didn't laser closer to my eyes. Now, I cannot EVER tan. And, actually if I try to tan, it would be of no value because CO2 laser resurfacing kills most of the melanin in the skin, which is why it is contraindicated in people of color. If I do get in the sun, I immediately worry about hyperpigmentation. Please don't have this procedure done if you have ANY color in your skin. It is not worth it. In fact, many times, I look at past pictures of myself, and I love the old pictures. What I see now is another story. I don't like taking photos anymore because I feel that I don't even look the same. I will add photos soon.

Sciton/Portrait Not Worth It

I had the Sciton Fraxel with Portrait, at an introductory half off price. The only result I got was nearly 6 weeks of terrible acne, finally healing with antibiotics. I now have some uneven tone, which I didn't have before the procedure. It also seems my skin won't peel as easily, leaving it dull looking. I had a full face CO2 lasr ten years ago with terrific results, and will back to the old standard CO2 in the future.

Need Your Thoughts! Illinois, IL

I am scheduled for a smas facelift and upper and lower blepharoplasty February 29th. My husband is against it. I had hoped he would eventually come around to supporting me but he hasn't. My sister is taking me and spending the first night post op at a hotel with me as the surgery is out of town and I need to be back at the center the next morning. After that I will be home. I'm worried my husband will really disapprove when he sees me battered and bruised. I am wanting to know if any of you had this same problem and still had your surgery done even though you knew your husband would not support you. Thanks so much for any advice. Updated on 29 Feb 2016: My husband is sooooo mad at me about this. He has tried to scare me out of this and it's working. We argued this morning once again about it. Tomorrow is the surgery and I'm scared as hell. My husbands continuous berating me about this has put fear in me, especially with tomorrow being the day. Am I doing the right thing? Will it turn out alright? What happens if things go wrong? What started as an exciting journey is becoming self-doubt. Should I cancel? Even my sister who is helping me the first couple of days and who is taking me to the surgery doesn't really see the need for this. She supports me as I am her sister , but she doesn't have any excitement for me about it....just worry. I feel like some sort of person committing a crime with these kind of attitudes towards me. I really am wondering....what am I doing? Has anyone been in my position? If so, did you go ahead with it and all turned out alright? Thanks for any thoughts. Updated on 3 Mar 2016: This is the second day since my facelift surgery. I am feeling as expected at this point. The bruising and swelling is minimal though, so happy for that. Pain is from the ear incisions. Looking forward to when they crust up and get past that tender point. My sister has stepped up and has been a real help and support for me.....my husband? .......He hasn't said a whole lot about it since seeing me but thankfully has not said anything negative. So for now he's not giving me stress as before the surgery..thank God for that. Thank you so much to the ladies who responded to me and offered their support. It helped me greatly...more then you know! Updated on 3 Mar 2016: Meant to write earlier. Not sure why I wrote the surgery date as February 29th. It was March 1st. Guess all the stress beforehand had me confused????
