Dear Doctors, How long is it advisable to wait for TT procedure following a myomectomy? I feel that my body is recovering and healing well. Have come cross contradicting advices raging from 6 weeks to 6 months. Currently excess skin on my stomach is affecting me great deal psychologically and has been for number of years. Thank you all
I had a myomectomy 1 year ago and my abs were flat. I work out regularly and eat healthy but ever since the surgery I have had swelling above the incision that I really want to get rid of without having more surgery. The swollen are is somewhat hard and I massage and stretch it regularly but see no to very little results. Please help, I really want to feel confident in my tight dresses again.
20 yrs ago I had a laparoscopic gyn procedure which was converted to open after a large fibroid was found. The scar is very low- almost in the middle of my pubic hair (area above is shaved). I would much rather have the extra vertical scar for the former location of the belly-button, but is there a limitation on how low it can be (and still be expected to heal normally or not have other complications) ? My previous procedure started laparoscopically, I do have some scarring on my belly button.
How long do I need to wait to get a tummy tuck after undergoing laparoscopic myomectomy to remove fibroids? I am insured through an HMO (Kaiser) and I'm having problems finding a plastic surgeon who is willing to work with my HMO doc...otherwise I would be opting to have both procedures done at once. Also, are there major pros/cons to having the two surgeries done at once?
Before my surgery my stomach was flat. I only had bloating after I would eat or during my cycle. 18 fibroids were removed with the largest being 10cm. Post op, I have a large flap of skin hanging that's crooked . And of course scar tissue has formed. It is hideous and I can tell that my doctor was trying to preserve my tattoo, so instead of cutting and pulling the skin down, she placed the skin to keep the tattoo in alignment.
I am scheduled for a Myomectomy on Dec 5. If they cannot remove my fibroid tumors without too much bleeding it will be a hystorectomy. I know this might be silly but I aslo scheduled to get two small tattoos about 4-5 inches on my back on Dec 1. Will this cause a complication with my surgery. Impulse seem to drive you more when the doctor tells you, you might bleedout on the table. I just want to be prudent about this and not make the surgeons job harder.
I've just been referred to a surgeon for a myomectomy and I'm trying to anticipate how to best plan for my upcoming procedure since I also want to have a tummy tuck. I've been working aggressively at weight loss and have shed 32 pounds in the past 6 months; I still need to lose 48 pounds to get to my goal weight. (1) Can I combine the tummy tuck with the myomectomy? (2) What are the disadvantages to having the procedures separately?
