Hello. I am hoping you can give me some advice. I had my rhinoplasty 6 months ago (next week). Please see attached photos. My columella is extremely tight and stiff and my tip rock hard. I know the swelling can take around a year or more to resolve. My question is, will the tightness of my columella resolve? I feel that I have a lot of extra space between my lip and nose. My nose doesnt when smiling/laughing. Als the bump in the circled photo, does this look normal?
My surgeon used a caudal projection graft to reproject and support my nose tip. I believe he attached it to my anterior nasal spine but its unclear from the operation report and I cannot get an answer from him. I believe it is whats causing an extreme feeling of tightness at the base of my columella. This is affecting my daily life as it is difficult to drink from a straw or comfortably close my mouth. Can this graft be removed? I have other grafts supporting my tip.
A year ago, I had a two-hour nose job. an eagle-shaped nose with thick and oily skin. I had very severe swelling. The surgeon injected corticosteroids in the second month, but didn't work. In the ninth month, he told me to start using isotretinoin under the supervision of a dermatologist. didn't work.still very swollen. My nose has not improved since month 2 and is still pear-shaped(one side is more swollen & a bigger hole with annoying tightness). Will this nightmare go away?
Hello, I am about 10 months post op for my rhinoplasty (1st time) and overall aesthetically I love my results but there are times I have been feeling lots of internal pressure and lately some like tightness when I smile big or even while talking where it feels like my nose is just going to snap. Also when I yawn. Sometimes I get this weird like pulsating feeling if I yawn too big. Another thing too is I still have lots of boogers that I have to take out with a q-tip. Is this normal for 10 mths?
Hello, it has been almost a year since my septo/ rhinoplasty surgery and I still have breathing issues which make it almost impossible to do anything. Throat and diaphragm get tight but once I place finger on nostril to further open it, the tightness in these areas goes away. According to what I'm feeling my doctor added cartilage to my nasal lateral wall which is affecting air from entering. Or it could have to do with the internal nasal valve. Either way I cannot take a full breathe normally.
I received a septorhinoplasty through insurance to improve my breathing two weeks ago. Although we did not discuss this enormous change to my nose prior to surgery, the Dr. pulled in my columella to create tension to straighten the tip of my nose. First, it is SO tight it actually hurts me when I move my face, and second is I feel I look absolutely hideous. Will my tip and columella descend over time and will I look like me again? Will it loosen up over time? If not is this reversible?
I am a 24-year-old woman. I am one week septoplasty/rhinoplasty. Not much swelling in my tip, only swelling in my bridge. My lip is extremely high and the left side of my nostril closer to the tip of my nose feels very tight (painful). When would I see this going away? Is this normal?
Hello I had a rhinoplasty 24 days ago. Happy with results although there is an uncomfortable feeling of tightness/ stiffness. What I find strange is that some days my nose feels fine and others there is significant pressure. The deviated posterior edge of my septal cartliage was removed as well as a repositioning of the nasal septum performed. Tip correction was also carried out but no grafts were used. Is the feeling in my bridge and tip due to scar tissue ?
I got a full rhinoplasty 6 days ago. My left side of nose seems to be giving me a lot of trouble. It feels like my left side is swelling and the external splint is pressing into the side of my nose, causing pressure and my nose to be stuffed. Is this normal? Does it cause any effects to my nose; like shifting bone or changing the shape? Im starting to worry.
Hi there, I have extreme tightness at the base of my nose underneath the skin behind the nares so I'm unable to comfortably make an O shape with my lips. I noticed this whilst giving head (sorry) and in an attempt to eat a banana the day before. I'm 12 days post op and wondering if this tightness will go away. Please help!
