Hi there, I have extreme tightness at the base of my nose underneath the skin behind the nares so I'm unable to comfortably make an O shape with my lips. I noticed this whilst giving head (sorry) and in an attempt to eat a banana the day before. I'm 12 days post op and wondering if this tightness will go away. Please help!

Your lucky boyfriend!  The tightness that you feel around the lips and mouth will go away. Usually I tell my patients that they should avoid any major contact for at least one month. And avoid sexual contact for about two weeks. Be patient and all this will go away!

Pursing your lips after rhinoplasty surgery may feel tight after surgery. You might want to refrain from certain activities that make you sore; especially during the 1st few weeks after rhinoplasty surgery.
Please talk to your plastic surgeon about these and other issues.
