I had rhinoplasty just over a year ago and ive had this lump under my skin since the procedure and it hasnt gone down since, I think its scar tissue and I'm just wondering if it will ever get better as its really obvious and makes my nose look deformed. My surgeon gave me one steroid shot and it didnt improve and he thinks it looks fine so I havent been offered any other solution for it
I had an open rhinoplasty (piezo) done 8 months ago and Im worried about how big and wide the bridge and tip still look from the front. I havent seen the swelling go down past the 2-3 month mark and my concern is that this may be close to the final shape. Does this look like swelling? If so, should I look into a steroid injection? Im also concerned about a slight bump that I see on the bridge in the side profile and the lack of slope. For context I am south Asian with medium skin thickness.
7 months ago, I had rhinoplasty. The doctor used rib cartilage. I wanted a narrower, defined tip. Also a defined bridge and slightly more narrow. But mainly I wanted a defined tip. Initially there had been some change. But after about 4 months it started to look like my old nose. 7 months on, I have seen minimal change to the tip. am so disappointed I would not have a second surgery. Will steroid shots work?
Hello, I had rhinoplasty 3 and a half years ago. There is excess scar tissue formation inside my nose. Since the right side of my nose is round and soft, I think there is scar tissue formation there as well. Is it useful to apply steroid injection? Even if I had a revision, I was hesitant because there was a possibility that it could reoccur.
Had a rhinoplasty 14 months ago - recently started feeling like there was blockage affecting my breathing - I can see what looks like scar tissue affecting my breathing. I know I need to be seen in person but looking for some advice on what should be recommended as a fix.
Ive never had acne as an adult and im 30 but i recently had a breakout which I suspect is fungal acne as its very itchy on my cheeks, over the counter treatment helps but it doesnt eliminate it. Im trying to figure out the cause at the time I broke out my hormones where fine I had tests, no change in diet or lifestyle. The only thing I had that was different was a steroid injection in my nose due to post surgery swelling. Could there be a correlation?
It seems like there is not enough research being done to combat the thick skin problem for rhinoplasty. It seems like people just accept this and don't try to come up with any innovative solutions or experiments. Why doesn't anyone try to place one or multiple biodegradable dexamethasone-eluting implants under the tip skin after rhinoplasty to prevent excessive fibrosis and hopefully, to thin the skin? Ozurdex seems like an implant that could be repurposed to test this use.
I chose a surgeon for rhinoplasty and scheduled the surgery in July. However, I am concerned as one of his patients has bumps one year post op. Her nose was straight and perfect two weeks post op, but now (one year later) looks crooked and the Dr prescribed steroid injections. I am concerned about having the same result. Does this reflect the surgeon's work or just bad luck?
