I had rhinoplasty just over a year ago and ive had this lump under my skin since the procedure and it hasnt gone down since, I think its scar tissue and I'm just wondering if it will ever get better as its really obvious and makes my nose look deformed. My surgeon gave me one steroid shot and it didnt improve and he thinks it looks fine so I havent been offered any other solution for it
Answer: Sometimes nasal tip asymmetry may be improved with a permanent nonsurgical nose job. I don't think the raised area involving your right nasal tip will spontaneously disappear. There appears to be an indentation above it which is causing the appearance of asymmetry between one side of your tip and the other. If you are overall happy with your results except for this indentation, depending on your examination, microdroplet Silikon 1000 injections may be considered for filling it in and for providing a more symmetrical nasal tip appearance. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Dr. Josep

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello! Thank you for your question. As far as I can see from your photo for get rid of this image I definitely recommend revision surgery If you can provide photos with better lighting, from the side of your face and 1 meter away I would be able to make a proper evaluation. It would be more convenient to decide with face-to-face consultation. Best regards!

Answer: CO2 laser resurfacing Hello! My name is Jessica, I am a physician assistant, and one of the providers at Shah Facial Plastics. This is a great question. I recommend treating the area with a CO2 laser to help resurface the skin. However, I highly recommend scheduling an in-person consultation in order to better assess your areas of concern and discuss an appropriate treatment plan to help achieve your aesthetic goals. Our office phone number is: (312) 944-0117. I hope this helps and best of luck!

Answer: Rhinoplasty results That one year your results are final and this is the outcome of your procedure. To make an accurate assessment regarding the outcome of any plastic surgery procedure we need to see a complete set of proper before and after pictures. If you don’t have before and after pictures, then ask your surgeon to forward the pictures they took. If you’re unhappy with the outcome of the procedure, and your surgeon, isn’t willing to address your concerns, then consider having a few in person second opinion consultations.Rhinoplasty surgery is highly complex and individuals thinking this type of surgery should be highly selective when choosing providers. Secondary rhinoplasty or revision rhinoplasty, surgery is far more difficult and complex than primary liposuction making it a procedure that should be done by those who have extensive qualifications. Ideally look for plastic surgeons, who have strong emphasis with a proven track record doing rhinoplasty surgery or preferably focus their career exclusively on rhinoplasty surgery. The following are some general guidelines for finding the right provider. To find the best provider, I suggest patient schedule multiple in person consultations with experienced plastic surgeons in their community. During each consultation, ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of before and after pictures of previous patients who have similar body or facial characteristics to your own. An experienced plastic surgeon should have no difficulty showing you the before and after pictures of at least 50 previous patients. An experienced provider should in fact have hundreds or preferably thousands of before and after pictures to choose from for commonly performed procedures. Being shown a handful of preselected images, representing the best results of a provider’s career is insufficient to get a clear understanding of what average results will look like in the hands of each provider. There is no correct number of consultations needed to find the best provider. The more consultations you scheduled the more likely you are to find the best provider for your needs. Take careful notes during each consultation, especially regarding the quantity and quality of before and after pictures. It’s not a bad idea to bring pictures of your own body/face to use as reference when reviewing before and after pictures. The biggest mistake patients make is scheduling only one consultation without properly vetting or comparing providers before scheduling surgery. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
