Hi, I have a 1mm Goretex implant in my dorsum which was inserted to fix a polypeak deformity, after first surgery, by the same surgeon. Im wanting to get a revision to retract the implant and replace with rib cartilage. Im just wondering would it be difficult to remove, since I had the surgery in 2015 (9 years ago)..? I never had any problems, no infections. I notice my tip is crooked and would like an overall revision to straighten it
Hi docs! Is it possible for those pre carved goretex to be recarved to make it shorter in length? I have a pre carved gortex implant now that starts a little above the upper lash line. I would like the height to start at mid pupil to lower lash line instead as I had this preoperatively. If possible, do i have to wait for the 1 year post op mark to have this done?
I have 1mm goretex on bridge of nose and medpor sewn into septum for support. I would like both of these removed. I am with long term effects of ePTFE in my body. Org. surgeon says hell remove them but will not replace with cartilage. Just wait and see what happens. Im worries Ill get these out, need a third surgery shortly after. which I cannot do financially. Should I replace synthetic implants within ex-plant surgery or hope my body produce enough scar tissue?
Hi docs, I've done rhinoplasty procedure overseas where the surgeon put size 7 gore tex in my nose. I also has tip plasty done at the time. Rhino was done less than 4 months ago. I'd like the gore tex to be removed completely with no replacement at all and keep the tip plasty as is.Can the size 7 gore tex implant be removed by closed approach and without affecting the tip plasty? What is usually the preferred method? Thanks again docs!
Hello, I was wondering how long do I need to wait in order to have my gore tex implant removed? It is not infected and it has been a month since Surgery. I do not like the look of the implant and after very much thought, I rather have no implant at all (no silicone, med pore, other gortex size, ear or rib cartilige). Can the implant be removed as soon as possible? Ive seen cases where patients have them removed as early as 5 days to 3 months because of infection and nose is left as is/natural.
Hello. I've had an augmentation rhinoplasty last year through which a Goretex implant was placed in my nose to improve bridge height. However, that implant deviated to the point where I can move it. Last month, I had it fixed but I can see that the implant is still tilting to the same side although not as bad as before and not as visibly movable as before. My question is, will this be straight over time? Or is it really still deviated and there is something my doctor isn't getting right?
Hello everyone I had an open rhinoplasty 11 years ago and I have an L shape Silicon , I would like to change my implant to Gore tex and ear cartilage for the tip of my nose . My question is is it ok to undergo open rhinoplasty again for revision ? Im scared that Im going to have a necrosis if I will do have open surgery again . Thank you for your time and answer .
I am Southeast Asian. I had rhinoplasty 15 years ago and Goretex was used. Due to time and braces, my facial profile changed. My nose tip is now too upward (like the Grinch ) and the alar part of my nose widened because of weight gain. I want to have a revision to make it conform. to the rest of my face but is it wise to have my existing Gore-Tex implant removed or is it better to just adjust the tip. Philtrum also became longer. doesn't look good.
Can I get a revision tip plasty without removing my Gore-Tex/ePTFE implant? I had ePTFE implanted in my nasal bridge 2 months ago and would like to get my tip corrected because my tip droops everytime I smile but I'm really happy with my nose bridge. It's not too high.
