Hello, I was wondering how long do I need to wait in order to have my gore tex implant removed? It is not infected and it has been a month since Surgery. I do not like the look of the implant and after very much thought, I rather have no implant at all (no silicone, med pore, other gortex size, ear or rib cartilige). Can the implant be removed as soon as possible? Ive seen cases where patients have them removed as early as 5 days to 3 months because of infection and nose is left as is/natural.

It can be very hard to get a graft in that area to sit symmetrically and look natural *and* accomplish what we'd want it to accomplish. It might be more predictable to lower the projection of the tip a bit, so the area above the tip no longer looks depressed, and then lower the bump a little bit...
A minor sebaceous gland infection can cause such a bump as well. It is too early to tell if it could be a cartilaginous or bony bump. If it persists longer than 3 months then it can be shaved down. However a repeat infection will require antibiotics and evaluation by a doctor.
