Hi all, It's been 4 months since I got a microneedling procedure done by a well known, board certified plastic surgeon. I went to his office seeking consultation for my minor ice pick scars on my cheeks. I paid $2,500 for what he called medical microneedling and it has widened my ice pick scars as well as caused persistent redness/red texture. They told me that redness will last for a 6-8 weeks, but at this point it's been 4 months. I am concerned about this experience and I feel violated, especially since the recommendation for the procedure was done in haste, and was not fully explained to me what is going to take place besides this is a real microneedling procedure, we are the only ones that do this. I have not found an equivalent procedure online about such an aggressive microneedling procedure. The entire time while he did the procedure, he talked about how this is the only kind of microneedling that is actually effective, and any other kind is a useless cash-grab. He said it is required to be aggressive with the approach to actually stimulate collagen. My skin was bleeding, bruised, scabbed, and I had extreme swelling the next day. He used a combination of dermaroller, a skin pen, and a needle. With the dermaroller, he beat my face, as in literally hit my face with it over and over again. I had numbing cream as well as lidocaine injections. It took about 2 weeks for the scabbing and major redness/bruising to subside. I had overall redness for weeks after, and now at 4 months I have redness in small patches. Can someone please explain what has been done to my face? I feel lied to and very upset that the icepicks scars are actually much more visible and more wide than before. There are literally icepick scars that I never noticed now that are apparent on my cheeks. Is this a legitimate procedure? What can I do at this point? Would really appreciate the knowledge and help by board certified surgeons who are familiar with this method.
Dear Doctors. I just did microneedling by myself and Im concerned about the bruises on my face. I have a feeling that these bruises Will later on leave the spots darker. I think I did a little more aggressive on those area ( which has hyperpigmentation). Will those bruises make the hyperpigmentation get darker? Should I use Retin-A to help lighten them? Those pictures taken two days after the treatment. Thank you for your time!
The overal redness is diminishing but my skin is right, feels completely raw, and is starting to peel. My biggest concern is under my eyes are still swollen and have needle marks: bruising . Am only using cetaphil and Versace cream . Please advise if this is normal ?
I have senisitive skin. This would be my third session of microneedling that Ive got done . The two times I got it , it was just red and healed in 2 days. But this time it looks scabby, bruised up , super tight . Did she damage my skin?? Will it heal up nicely ?? Will it permanently leave scars. ? What can I use to make it heal faster ? Im on day 3. Todays monday, Ive got it done Friday morning .
I had 2 derma pen treatments in 2015, I year ago for the first one and 6 weeks later, the second. I had track mark like bruises all over my face for 4 days after the treatments. She told me the first time couldn't be explained so we'd try again. Since the second treatment, I have battled horrible cystic acne and small bumps completely covering my entire face. My skin is dry and scaly and is always red. Is there anything I can do to fix this or did Derma Pen ruin my face?
Please someone help me understand what is going on. Those dark marks are bruises according to my esthetician and the redness is just taking time to heal because I have ultra sensitive skin. I am just so distraught and upset and am crying every day because of what has happened to me. Before this I had some scars but nothing this visible and extreme. I am a mess and am afraid this is all permanent damage. I am desperate for answers.
I'm really scared this is going to be permanent damage .it does not seem to be improving despite taking Arnica and constantly icing . The swelling is still awful on day 5
Done for acne scars. Collagen P.I.N used. 0.5 used on forehead, 1.5 on cheeks, side of face 1.0. Dermatologist recommended it. Licensed esthetician did it (12yr exp.) @ the office. Post tx plan: induction therapy products (makers of the p.i.n) including serum q1h day of tx, then days following use cleanser bid, apply phaz serum, apply dewet moisturizer & intensive care cream for bruising. Sunscreen primer prn. What else can I do to speed up heeling? This looks terrible & I'm so upset.
