I have large lips which have other the years made my lips droopy and makes my philtrum look large in contrast. I've been considering a lip lift, but the biggest deterrent is the permanent and prominent scar that it leaves. I have recently been doing some research on a V-Y lift, though less information is known regarding that procedure. Is this the best procedure for decreasing the philtrum and droppings without a scar and if not what other procedures would you recommend instead.
I had two consults regarding a lip lift, and absolutely certain I do not want bullhorn. One doctor suggested direct (vermillion) on upper, VY on lower, while the other surgeon said vermillion all the way. I would so appreciate another opinion.
My main concern with my lips is the larger than average length of the philtrum. Ive had lip injections for a few years now but I believe that it makes the length of the philtrum look worse. Does the V to Y lip procedure really shorten the philtrum length? Even if its not by that much or not that dramatic of an effect, Id still definitely be interested and Im wondering if theres any in the Detroit area
Hello, I am a 22 year old female looking to increase the surface area (not necessarily volume) of my lips. I would like a harmonious shape which corrects the natural unevenness of my thin lips. I am interested in V to Y mucosal advancement, or possibly a lip lift if anyone thinks that would meet my goals. I attached a photo of what I would like my lips to look like. Does anyone know what procedure would work for me or who in California could make my lips look this way? Thank you :)!
I had the procedure done a year ago. My history is that I had a chin implant removed with disastrous consequences. My mentalis muscle is severely damaged according a new doctor who did his best to reattach the muscle superiorly. So, would another deeper V-Y lip procedure or even a V incision closed zipper-like help even a little bit?? When I pinch my lower lip together slightly I get a lift in height. Maybe it doesn't work like this? Ugh this is beyond frustrating!
Hi i am interested in the v to y lip augmentation and a lip lift either together or the lip lift after the v to y surgery. I have always had very thin lips. To try to get bigger lips I did fat grafting twice and some did take but I still want more fullness. I also have a hard time finding surgeons who are experienced with the v to y surgery so comments welcome. I provided a pic of my lips currently with two sessions of fat grafting and what my desired results or something similar in fullness.
I've been told by a surgeon that I wouldn't benefit from the usual bullhorn lip lift due to my anatomy. I do have a very unique philtrum as it's rather round and it curves outwards instead of inwards. Am I suitable candidate for a V-Y lip surgery or do I need to address my long philtrum first? I've been considering fat transfer too, but I don't know how that would look like given that my upper lip as thin as it could get. Open to suggestions.
