I have 6 porcelain veneers on my top front teeth. I asked my ortho if we can avoid attachments on my veneers. Im on my 2nd set of veneers. They are 12 yrs old, expensive & in good shape. I cant handle getting new veneers. My ortho said that they need to at least put attachmnts on my outter veneers. Im extremely hesitant on putting attachmnts on them. I need them to stay in good shape. Is it safe to put attachments/glue on porcelain veneers? Is there any risk in chips, cracks, color damage, etc to veneers from attachmeents?
I often go out and stay 3-4 hours in the pub or club...I drink alcohol with invisalign on because I don't want to lose 4 hours without invisalign on. Can alcohol like vodka, wine or whisky damage the invisalign (dissolve or change the shape) or the only issue is decay and sugar? . I do not worry about this because my cleaning habit is very good).
When I had X-rays done, my denist said I have baby teeth still but my adult teeth were never coming down because they pointing towards each other like this -><-. She should told me to worry if I feel any pressure. Will the shifting of teeth to get them straighten cause more damage?
My back teeth, especially the ones I chew with are very loose and I have already exceeded week 2 with my Invisalign tray. I can feel them move when I floss. Sometimes I leave my trays out for 2-4 hrs but, never exceed leaving them out more than 4 hours a day as I only eat once or twice a day. I didn't think I was doing anything wrong. There's nothing on the Invisalign instructions that tell you how long at a time to leave the trays out, just not more than 4 hours a day. What damage have I done?
My doctor has put 2 Invisalign attachments on my front tooth which has porcelain veneer, the surface was so smooth that the attachments couldn't stick for more than a few hours, after returning to his office he put some sand on my tooth saying that this will allow the new attachment to stick better. Any idea of what that is exactly and if this will damage my veneer? Thanks !
I've been on Invisalign for six months now and was originally instructed to wear my aligners for two weeks. Now, my orthodontist instructed me to change my aligners every week (and I'm not using Acceledent). Is that normal? I've read that changing them too quickly can cause damage and I don't want to my teeth to end up falling out or something.
I think my dentist damaged one tooth when I got Invisalign attachments and she used the drill to remove extra composite that was all over my mouth after placing them with the tray. I've had one tooth chipped and with a craze line (white, vertical and quite translucent line) that day. It's not really that noticeable but I'm beyond frustrated. Any restoration that is NOT a veneer can be done? Was it caused by the drill? Thank you in advance.
I am 22 years old and have always sucked my thumb. My teeth are relatively straight and my overbites not too bad but as a result of thumbsucking my canines point inwards and make me look like a vampire! My dentist told me that Invisalign would probably work for my case but i've read some reviews saying its not possible for people who have sucked there thumb. I really want to stop sucking my thumb but I need to know if its too late and the damage is already done !
Hi, I'm currently away on holiday and have just lost the top of my brace. My top teeth are already quite straight (got invisaline mainly for bottom teeth) so not being dramatically moved and I had my brace on for 13 days prior to losing it. I unfortunately didn't bring my next set with me. I now won't have the brace for 48 hours! Is this going to move my teeth back? Any recommendations on what to do? Thanks
I went to my first fitting to get my first Invisalign; five days later I notice they inserted fitting number 3. They skipped the first two by mistake and place the 3rd fittin instead of the first. My theeth hurt a lot the first 4 days. Can this error damage my theeth in the future?
