Can I drink alcohol with Invisalign on?

Just fyi, bacteria always present in your mouth and it likes sugar from alcohol you drink.  Sugar, which is bacteria's food,  seats in the aligner and on your teeth. Process of etching, which is to say a start of getting a cavity or inflamation of the gums,  by bacteria starts within first 5 min of the contact.The bottom line the only liquid you should drink with aligners is water.Hope this helps. This is a great question.  When we drink sugary or alcoholic drinks with our aligners in, the sugary liquids can remain inside the aligner and actually serve as food sources for the bacteria in our mouths.  If you're going out to bars, I would suggest taking out the aligner when drinking (remember to keep it in your pocket case!) and rinse before putting them back in.

You really shouldn't drink alcoholic beverages while in Invisalign. You have stated that you have great hygiene but the sugar will sit on your teeth for hours in the trays. If you must drink while wearing aligners try dringing through a straw.
