Having my surgery in two weeks, inframmary incision. Im looking to purchase some silicone scar sheet because Ive heard great things about them. However Im open to any kind of lotions etc you may suggest or had a good experience with.
Im especially concerned about the one appearing darker, because its also sitting a bit higher than the breast fold, and its the widest of the two. Im using coconut oil to hidrate and Im massaging 3-4 times a week. I suspended the silicone sheets because they seemed to make my scars more raised. Should I give silicone sheets another try? I'm officially 3 weeks post op. I took a look at my incisions this morning with a mirror and wasn't sure what I was looking at. My PS used dissolvable stitches and then skin glue. I'm supposed to wait for the glue to come off and the use silicone sheets. Is the blackness over/around my incision skin glue? I was expecting it to have come off by now
It was inner stitching and my doc claims I should still wait one more months before the scars start flatten, but I have not seen that anyone else has anything similar! Is this really normal? Is there anything I can do / should do at this stage (2 months)? 6 days of the week I wear a silicon stripes on them.
Once I hit week 3 post op, I've been given the OK to start scar treatment for my 6-9 cm long scars.I've heard silicone sheeting is superior to silicone creams, so I want to try the sheeting.Im considering Scar Away sheets, Mepiform sheets, or Metipac Soft Silicone tape. Do you recommend 1 of these 3 over the other? Or is there another brand that's better? The Metipac silicone tape doesn't mention in its instructions that its meant for scars, so I'm scared to try it. But it has great reviews.
Hello. I am 10 months post op. My scars are still very red and slightly raised. Are they healing normal or should I be concerned? I'm using bio oil and just started scar away silicone gel. My doctor always rushes me out. My last 3 appointments he hasn't even been to and was never advised on scar care.. I have an appointment card with the date and time yet when I get there I have no appointment scheduled and have to see a nurse..I'm physically sick with how angry I am with him and his practice.
I saw my PS today and he removed the silicone sheet i got around 4 weeks ago. There is this red spot on my left insicion. He said it might be a stitch popping out and put me on Bactroban treatment. Does this look like its infected? It actually doesnt hurt, he said the cream was to prevent infection but i would like to hear what do you think and recommendations. Thanks in advance!
I am still having to wear silicone self adhesive nipple covers as i cannot wear a bra yet. My incisions have healed and my wounds are completely closed. Can i wear the silicone scar sheets or silicone scar gel under my nipple covers or will there be issues (they won't work or the nipple covers will fall off, etc)?
5 weeks post-op, crease, silicone, under Started to use Bio oil & silicone scar sheet 2 & half weeks after my BA. Yesterday i woke up with few red bumps on my left boob. It looks like a zit. I don't know if it is normal to break out after BA or its the Bio oil and i've never had acne on my body before. last night i took my silicone sheet out before shower, i had a drop of watery blood came out of one small hole of my incision. Today i had yellow-ish liquid came out. Is it stitch abscess? help
