I’m especially concerned about the one appearing darker, because it’s also sitting a bit higher than the breast fold, and it’s the widest of the two. I’m using coconut oil to hidrate and I’m massaging 3-4 times a week. I suspended the silicone sheets because they seemed to make my scars more raised. Should I give silicone sheets another try? Thank you!
Answer: Silicone scar cream Great question! Make sure you keep the scars out of sunlight - if you laying out or at the beach, even with a bikini on, make sure you put something over the scars to protect it from the sun. Sun exposure will make the scars darker. Also scars take a full 12 months to mature so you still have 6 more months. Silicone scar cream has been shown to improve scarring but if it has made your scars worse then you should avoid it. Massaging may help as well. Continue routine followup with your surgeon so he/she can continue to monitor it.Best of luck and hope this information helps! - Dr. Roger Tsai @DrRogerTsai Board Certified Plastic Surgeon

Answer: 6 months post-op. Are my inframammary scars healing well? Any advice to speed up healing? (photos) It may take 12 months or more before your scars have fully matured. Give it time, avoid tanning the scars and keep in touch with your surgeon. Best of luck with this.
