Is this skin glue on my incision? (Photos)

Question

I'm officially 3 weeks post op. I took a look at my incisions this morning with a mirror and wasn't sure what I was looking at. My PS used dissolvable stitches and then skin glue. I'm supposed to wait for the glue to come off and the use silicone sheets. Is the blackness over/around my incision skin glue? I was expecting it to have come off by now

Hi @Josephine1985, Yes that looks like Skin Glue.. It can look a little flaky / white like when Elmer's glue dries up. Nothing to worry about.
Skin Glue typically takes 2 weeks to dissolve or flake off.  Sometimes it can take a little while longer but that's nothing to worry about! It might actually be better. Sometimes, applying a little vaseline if it has been 2 weeks can help dissolve the glue. I would recommend following up with the plastic surgeon that did your surgery and just let them know if they want you to do anything or not.

The discoloration that you see is most likely skin glue.  The most common skin glue used this dark purple in color.  Of course should always check with your plastic surgeon..
