Hi doctors! First of all thank you so much for spending your time to reply to me. I had my breast augmented on June 2023. It is now Nov 2024, so it has been almost 1.5 years post surgery. I have noticed that my scar for one side looks really red and raised. Is it infected ? It doesn't look normal to me. It kind of hurts when I press on it. I will be making an appointment with my plastic surgeon, but thought I'd ask here first. Please advise. Thank you
I had two 380cc high profile under muscle implants done last year I had an infection after surgery in the one breast, ever since Ive had a noticeable difference in my breasts. When I lie down one falls into my armpit and they just sit very far apart on my chest. Ive been offered to change them from under to over muscle and it may help however have been advised Ill likely need an uplift in the larger lower one in the future. Im unsure what surgery to have first?
Is it true textured silicone implants have more bacteria on them than smooth silicone? Ive gone with textured silicone over the muscle implants 295cc moderate plus xtra. My surgeon told me to go with textured as it helps it stay in place less likely of capsular contracture as its on top of the muscle with it being textured and less likely to see rippling with textured ones too. Is there a much higher risk getting bacterial infections with the textured vs smooth?? I dont want to get infections
9 yrs ago after BA, developed hematoma, it was treated thru surgery & implants remained in, developing cap cont over time in the affected breast only. 2 yrs ago I began developing what seemed like infection in that breast periodically. I am baffled, my drs treat with antibiotics since my symptoms incl radiating heat, pain/tenderness, considerable swelling, & it is only the 1 breast. I am going to have to have revision or removal. Is this infection? scar tissue reaction? Ever heard of this?
HI, I got a breast augmentation 1 month ago and my right breast is still red on the top and kinda tender (more than the other one). I don't have a fever. My doctor has already had me on 2 courses of different antibiotics but I don't know if I have an infection...How can I detect if this is an infection or just normal recovery from the breast implants? Thanks
I'm going into surgery March 10th and my surgeon said I will have to take my nipple piercings out for roughly 3 weeks total. I'm nervous that my piercings will close. How long should I wait to get my nipples re-pierced if they close? How much risk do nipple piercings pose to infection of an implant? I've had mine in for 9 months and have not had an Infection but I really don't want to lose my piercings to my breast augmentation.
Desr Doctors, I had a breast augmentation and some complications along with the procedure. Right after surgery, on the 3rd day starting, I started feeling a local sharp pain in my right breast - it felt like somebody would constantly insert a knife. As time passed, this pain started to cover my whole right breast and then 2 months after surgery I had those blisters on my suture. The surgeon still claims to this day, that I did not have an infection but something unexplainable.
