I have mild breakouts and went for a deep cleansing facial with a LED light for my pimples. 3 months later my pores opened up, and i have developed sun spots. Also my skin is very oily now, which was never a problem. My dermatologist suggested i go on accutane as it will reduce my oily skin and help for skin texture, as well as for any scarring. Will accutane improve my skin texture and make my pores look smaller post accutane?
I went to a dermatologist a month ago expressing my concerns with scarring/texture, red marks, and acne. While scarring was my main issue, the PA instantly said accutane saying it will fill in my scars (which I know is not true.) I don't believe my acne is that severe to be put on accutane. I also have several fresh piercings and I don't want them to reject and get affected. Is there any way I can treat my cystic acne, scarring, and red marks WITHOUT going on accutane? Thx!
Ive been on Accutane 5 1/2 months and feel that it has ruined my skin texture. I have red marks and indentations making my skin look much worse than before my course began. Will my indentations and red marks get better after my course is finished? Can the indentations fill in. I have been on high doses of Accutane throughout my course. Month 1 40mg and the rest 80mg.
Ever since I ended accutane, my skin has been very dull, the skin tone and texture is very uneven, I have a lot of hyperpigmentation, and I've developed wrinkles on my forehead. I can't afford super expensive treatments, but I was wondering if y'all could recommend products or affordable treatments to help my concerns? I have black skin so what works for a white person in regards to uneven skin tone may work differently for me, so please take that into consideration.
I recently heard a dermatologist suggest to take 20mg of Isotretinoin biweekly or monthly to keep skin in good health (improve texture and reduce pore size). What are your thoughts on this and could I take this dosage long term? Thank you.
I have terrible blackheads everywhere which look like extremely large, dirty pores. I have put up with these for so long and I cant remember a time when they were this bad. I can squeeze my cheeks/forehead constantly and sebum comes out, however the pores always end up becoming clogged again. I have just started roaccutane and I take two 20mg tablets a day. Will roaccutane have a direct effect on my blackheads at all?
I finished my first 5 month course of Accutane while on a trip, so had 3 weeks of no dosage before being able to recommence treatment. I did have the expected break out when initially starting treatment, but my skin at the end had become so smooth & repaired. In the last week since recommencing Accutane, my faces skin texture has become horrible & bumpy/congested, with a mild chest rash. I look so different & have lost the confidence I gained. Would this be due to the medication? Thank you x
