37 & weirdly triangular smile, what causes this and can it be changed? (Photos)

I am 37 and I hate my smile. Not the teeth, though my bite is slightly open and protruded, but how triangular my smile is (how my lower lip splays out in an odd shape - see my photo and the actress'). What causes this, and can it be changed it anyway? It's really unattractive.
