I’m a 32A now and I’m getting a boob job next month. I feel like drs don’t quite understand how much pole dancing requires chest muscles and might affect me in the future. I’ve been dancing for 2 years, 3 times a week. I also work out 4 times a week so I’m quite an athletic person. However I don’t have enough tissue to place the implants over the muscle so all my drs suggested under the muscle but I’m scared that it might affect me physically even if im planning to wait 2-3 months post op.
Answer: Pole dancing After you are recovered you should be able to return to your active lifestyle including pole dancing. Waiting 2-3 months should be adequate. Be sure to return to activity slowly and always follow your surgeon's instructions regarding recovery.

Answer: I pole dance and I want a boob job. Will this affect me in the future? Hello and thank you for your question. Placing breast implants under the muscle can prevent rippling and implant edges from showing especially in patients with thin breast tissues, however, with poll dancing and working out, you may feel the implants move as your chest wall muscles contract. I would recommend to obtain an in person consultation with a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon to further discuss your options and expectations for best cosmetic results. I hope this helps. Answer: I pole dance and I want a boob job. Will this affect me in the future? Hello @ranimsami thank you for your question. A breast augmentation surgery is ambulatory, the patient from the first day after the surgery has an elastic band on the chest and so in reality the daily life activities that does not need upper body strength are ok for postoperative care. However, in the case of the activity you perform, it is important to take a reasonable amount of time to return to it, because as you rightly say, you need a lot of strength in your arms. Remember that each specialist has his recommendations and it is important to follow them for a better recovery. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD FACS

Answer: Breast augmentation and pec muscle Hello thanks for your question. Typically we prefer sub-muscular breast augmentation for its pros of support around a heavy implant, less risk of capsular contracture and better outcome after 5-10 years. The pectoralis muscle does become slightly weaker after a breast augmentation. Each person is different on what their residual strength of their pec is afterwards. Consideration of a sub fascial/sub glandular implant should be reviewed with your plastic surgeon given your line of work and how active you are.

Answer: Implants Many women are very athletic who receive implants. You should be able to return to dancing by 8 weeks. You may need to add more support to the bras worn during dancing initially to minimize pushing your implants too much laterally. I would not dance without a bra for at least 3 to 4 months.
