Hello, One year ago I underwent a lift w/implants. I wanted between 225 and 250 cc mod or low-mod. I was talked into 305 mod plus, and I hate them. I am planning to go to 220cc low profile. Despite not liking the size the shape is absolutely beautiful. The new surgeon says he will the old ones and then add internal stitches to close the pocket. He says lifting/tightening wont be needed. Im not so sure. Please advise as I dont want to trade shape for ideal size. I want nice shape AND size.
Answer: Implants Your photo with your wearing a bra and shirt is not very helpful. However, your surgeon can go down in size and tighten your lateral pockets for a better fit. I am not a fan of low profile because they are flat, but you might like moderate profile. You are going smaller and will be flatter from decreasing the size.

Answer: Implant size Dear RSProfile862479, breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small. You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals. Answer: More information needed A change of 100 cc's would very small. If you are size 32 or 34, it would be 1 cup size change. If you are size 36 or 38, it would be 1/2 cup size change. In your photograph, your breasts appear to be somewhat low on your chest wall. I would need more accurate photographs to give you a more accurate answer. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Breast implants revision While reducing the implant size from 305cc to 220cc may help achieve your desired size, it's crucial to address your concerns about the shape. Adding internal stitches to close the pocket can potentially help with maintaining the shape you like. However, it's also possible that you may need some adjustments to ensure that both size and shape align with your preferences. Your surgeon should provide you with a comprehensive evaluation and a detailed surgical plan to achieve your desired outcome. If you have doubts or questions, don't hesitate to seek a second opinion from another board-certified plastic surgeon to ensure you make an informed decision that meets your expectations.

Answer: Breast assessment To make an assessment for breast surgery we need to see pictures of your breasts. Decreasing implant size will change the shape of your breast. The capsule will eventually close and accommodate the new implant. It’s not wrong to place internal sutures to close the pocket as well especially if the diameter of the event is being reduced significantly. Choosing the right provider is always the most important variable. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
