Is microneedling ok if I may have a basal cell currently?

I have had a history of basal cell carcinomas. I am interested in having microneedling and nanoneedling on my face. Do I need to make sure I don't have any current basal cells before treatment?

You should check with your dermatologist before proceeding with microneedling if basal cell carcinoma is suspected. Any additional scars that you may acquire from the basal cell removal or biopsy will compromise your microneedling result.

Thank you for your question.Presence of active skin cancer would be a contraindication for many aesthetic procedures including microneedling and it would be useful for you to get your skin checked to rule out any active skin cancer before microneedling if you had skins cancer in the past.
